Millie: It's G
The expression change on Rach when the words slipped out of my mouth was extraordinary. I wish I would have got that on camera.
Rach: You mean G Stanway? I can not believe this. Oh. My. Goodness
Millie: Crazy right. Now you gonna let me explain?Rach just nodded, letting me know she would no longer speak until after I have explained what happened when we got here.
Millie: So you know when we were in the meeting room and Sarina was speaking, I couldn't take my eyes off her. For some reason, she looks different. She's glowing and it was like I was being tied to her with a magnetic force. I couldn't look away.
The conversation went backwards and forwards for me and Rach until we got a knock on the door from Leah telling us we've 'gotta go down to the games room now'. The night passed with no drama, no baiting me out and a lot of unnecessary staring at Georgia when she wasn't looking.
Is this really happening? Do I really fancy Georgia Stanway? She lives in Germany Mil, be realistic please.
As much as the morality in my head and heart were arguing, the heart wants what the heart wants. And usually with me, what the heart wants the heart always gets.
What am I going to do? This is exactly the point I could do with a Daly dose of Brightness.
The next morning is our first training session and we have our first game in 2 days. I don't know what I'm more nervous for, trusting Rach with my secret or the fact we are at the Euros.
We got to training and Sarina was stood in the middle of the pitch. She never usually stands with us whilst we train.
Sarina: Okay girls before you get warmed up, I have previously mentioned that for this camp club performances are not included in the selection I will be choosing for games. The people who play will be the players that demonstrate their ability to me personally on this very pitch.
Everyone cheered. This was a much fairer way of selecting teams because some people in the squad don't really get much game time at club level.
Sarina: So today I want you working in a pair throughout training. I have made these pairs already to avoid distraction.
She began listing off pairs that would be together. When Rach was put with Ella I was a bit bummed, it's usually always me and Rach. Then she got to me...
Sarina: And finally Millie you will be paired with Georgia for this session
Georgia: Okay bossShe threw a smile across the group which just made me even more nervous. I managed to smile back. I don't know how I wanted to scream.
Millie: Yes boss thank you
Training from that point was like a beautiful nightmare. Me and Georgia did well together, we beat everyone in the competitive drills and ended up doing a little dance together at the end until Sarina come back over to the group
Sarina: Millie and Georgia what a pair you two are, we might have to see some more of you on the pitch together. This defender midfielder duo could be our next best thing.
Millie: Thank you boss, we appreciate that
Georgia: Yes boss thank you.Getting back to the hotel room I felt like I could finally breathe. Like I didn't have to be careful anymore. Rachel would come up have a talk about Ellie, and Georgia probably now that she knows this and then I'd feel fine, at peace with it all.
Rach came in and she looked really giddy. This has to be about Ellie. Now I'm getting excited for her.
M: Sooo who's put that smile on your face?
R: Ahhh I didn't think it was that obvious
M: It is so spill..
R: Ellie just came up to me
M: And said....
R: She said and I quote "Looking good Rach". What does that even mean?
M: It means she thinks you look good dumbass this is a good sign. You fancy her she clearly fancies you. This will be a good summer for you.
R: And what about you hmm? I caught Stanway giving you the eyes earlier when you were dancing
M: What do you mean?
R: I mean that when you were dancing G couldn't keep her eyes off of you
M: No don't say that, you'll make me nervous to be around her in generalToo late. Now I'm a nervous wreck and we have to go for dinner soon in the hall. And she'll be there. I need to brush my hair, I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards. And with that I grabbed my sliders and we went downstairs.
The girls lifted their heads as we walked in, I felt so nervous. On one table was the Manchester girls and Georgia the old Manny girl, and on the other side was the London lot. I didn't know where to go, Rachel said she wants to sit with the Manny girls because Tooney was over there and she wanted to get some pranks in. So that's where we went. There were two spare chairs. One next to Ellie and one next to G. Of course Rachel pounced into the one next to Ellie so this was the moment. I had to drop the nerves and sit with Georgia.
Everything was okay until..
G: Hey Mills you okay?
She shot a massive grin at me when she was talking and her smile captivated me that I didn't even reply.
G: Mill? Are you okay?
*THUD* Ow what was that. Rachel just kicked me under the table. Thanks bestie.
M: Yes I'm okay G thank you, sorry I was in my own world until some annoying Villa player booted my leg
This caused a laugh from everyone at the table.
Georgia lent closer to me. I was getting flustered and she was probably noticing. What do I do now? There's no saving me here like.
G: Can we go have a chat? I need some advice
