Tiger's Hesitation

Shakes and Mio spent the day shopping at the mall, shopping for appreciation gifts for everyone

"But where we hide gifts? If Tiger sees, surprise would be ruined" Mio asks worriedly

"I could take them home with me" Shakes offers

"Really? Thanks Shakes!"

"No problem" Shakes laughs as the two enter a taxi

Tiger waits for Mio at home. Once she arrives--

"Mio! There you are, so where you and Shakes go?" Tiger asks, trying to hide the eagerness from his voice

"Just out and about, he was showing me around city" Mio says as she makes her way to the kitchen

"I could've done that with you if you'd ask"

"It's fine, I'll ask you next time" Mio says

'Why does she look so happy? Don't tell she's developing feelings for Shakes!....Maybe I should--'

Tiger considers opening up his feelings to Mio when he sees a framed picture of him with Miko and Mio. With that, he stops in his tracks, clenches in fists, and looks down

The next day, while at practice, Tiger notices how much closer Mio and Shakes have become

"Will you look at that, they're talking in secret again" El Matador comments as he and North walks up to Tiger

"What?" Tiger looks at them

"I mean, they just met a few days ago, but look how quickly they became so close. It must be fate" North says

"They are same age, Mio rarely interacts with players same age as her" Tiger says

"Why are you making excuses Tiger? Don't tell us you're jealous?" North teases

"What are you talking about? Of course not" Tiger says as he walks away from the two

As practice continues, Twisting Tiger keeps making glances at Shakes and Mio. Then after practice, Mio and Dancing Rasta are asked to stay behind to talk to coach regarding their match against Hydra, so Twisting Tiger decides to wait for her. The others starts leaving when Tiger pulls Shakes aside

"Huh?"

"Hey Shakes, can we talk?"

"Uhh sure" Shakes nods

They walk over to the bench and take their seats

"So what's up man?" Shakes starts

"W-Well, I was wondering if you and Mio are seeing eachother"

"What? You mean like a couple?"

"Y-Yeah" Tiger nods sadly

"Of course not man" Shakes answers

"But you like eachother?"

"Not like that. Where'd you get those ideas?" Shakes laughs

"It seems you two got closer, and you went out yesterday and day before, you were whispering about something"

'What the. He's jealous' Shakes thoughts in amusement

"Oh those? We were just talking about a new move" Shakes lies, it's not like he can say that they were talking about him

"Oh that's it?" Tiger sighs in relief

"Why do you care anyway?" Shakes asks

"W-Well" Tiger is trying to think up of excuses when Shakes speaks again

"Be honest Tiger. What do you really feel about Mio?" Shakes asks seriously

"...."

"You love her don't you?"

"...Alright fine, I do" Tiger sighs

"Is that the main reason why you cherish your lucky charm so much? Mio mentioned she was the one who gave you that"

"Yes. She gave me lucky charm on my birthday years ago. Charm is real power, but it's my treasure because it came from Mio" Tiger says

"She always so kind, so thoughtful and hard working" Tiger smiles

"If that's how you feel and you know how she feels about you, then why haven't you asked her out yet?"

Tiger takes out his wallet and inside is a picture of him with Miko and Mio. Shakes looks at the photo

"Is Miko against it?" Shakes asks

"No"

"Then what's wrong?"

"Promise me you won't tell anyone" says seriously

"Alright" Shakes nods

"Back in high school, I was friends with a guy in soccer club, friend since middle school, you can even say we were best friends. He has sister, she and I started dating at some point. Friend was supportive at first, but things started becoming awkward when three of us are together. And then when his sister and I broke up, she cried, friend got so mad at me. Our friendship ended just like that. We haven't spoken since" Tiger explains

"I get it, you don't want what happened with your school friends happen with Miko and Mio" Shakes says in understanding

"Yes. Miko and Mio are important to me. Known them since childhood. I dated a friend's sister once, and it not end well. And actually, after awful break up and fight with friend and his sister, Mio comforted me. She was unlike past girlfriends. At that moment, I realized she was the one I truly love. But I held back feelings" Tiger says sadly

'So Tiger started liking Mio first'

"Dude, you can't just let your past consume you like this. How will you know that the past will happen again if you don't take the risk?"

"I don't want to risk my relationship with Miko and Mio"

"Why don't you talk to them about this?"

"I can't! It might spark fight!"

"So you're just gonna let Mio chase after you without telling her your hesitation?"

"I not know. Maybe just at least she falls for someone else"

"And you're okay with that? You were clearly hurting when you thought she and I started liking eachother" Shakes points out

Tiger remains silent as he looks down on the ground

"Tiger you're hurting both Mio and yourself"

"I know. I still not know what to do. So please don't tell Mio" Tiger pleads

"Sure. Anyway I have to go, Spenza and I have plans tonight" Shakes says as he stands up

"Thanks Shakes" Tiger says as Shakes waves goodbye

Now that he's alone, he looks up at the sky

'I do indeed love Mio....but....'

With Shakes, he's in the hallways when he pass by Mio

"Oh you're still here Shakes?" Mio says

"Yeah. I was talking with Tiger" hearing this peaks Mio's interest

"What did you guys talk about?" she asks excitedly

"Well he asked if you and I were seeing each other now"

"What?" Mio laughs

"I know, you should've seen how serious he looks" Shakes laughs
