Kiara's pov:
It was a beautiful day on the outer banks,hot,sunny and the sky have no cloud in it.A beautiful day to surf or hanging with the pogues dont you think ?Well,my two best friends John b and Sarah had disappeared at sea 10 days ago.I refuse to assume that they are dead,can't kill a pogue.On the day that we helped them to leave the island,I kissed pope.I don't why I did it I think it's because I was sad that my two best friend leave us and now I feel bad because I have feelings for someone else.
Flash back
JJ,kie and pope we're on the dock with John b saying to tell Sarah goodbye.
"Don't worry we will bro" JJ said putting his arm around kie's shoulder.She felt butterflies for the first time that day.
"You will take care of her right?" He asked with tears in his eyes.
"Of course" I said
When he leaved with JJ's dad boat,we stayed close to the water and me and pope were on the dock.
I wanted to kiss pope I really did,but I had to check if JJ was looking. I turn my head and he wasn't looking so I kissed pope and after a few second we saw JJ looking sad.Why was he looking sad ? Flirting is just a fake for him.It didn't matter to him ...right ?
End of the flashback
And now...I am kinda in a relationship with pope.But the thing is he invited me on a date and I felt bad so I said yes.I'm on my way to the place that we meet witch is a place with big rocks close to the water he said that we could watch the sunset together with my favorite sandwiches and that we could listen Bob Marley.Pope is so sweet,I really don't want to break his heart but I also can't pretend my feelings for jj.
I walk on the street of the cut when I see JJ on his motorcycle and he stop.Fuck.
"Yo kie! How are you we didn't see each other these day we could surf soon ?" He stop and stand in front of me and he see that I'm nervous.
"Uh yeah I just um ...Im on my way to meet pope right now so um maybe later" I say
"Oh I can come if you w-"
"NO" I stop him directly
"I mean...um yes we could surf later but um now I need some time with pope...alone" I add
"Ohhh..."
He seems very very jealous and it drive me crazy because I wish he could come with me.
"I see ...okay then text me when you can surf bye Kiara" he jump on his motorcycle and leave.
Kiara? He never call me kiara,he's definitely mad.Fuck.
When I arrive it's 7pm and the sun start to go down.I see pope who wave me to join him.I fake smile and hug him.
"Hey kiara" he said
"Hey pope should we sit?" I say
"Uh yeah but we're not at a restaurant kie we can stand if you want" he laugh but I don't
After a few second everything is awkward so I fake laugh.
"Yeah haha but maybe it would be more comfortable to watch the sunset." I add
"Ok ok we can sit" he seems mad now
Nice I'm losing my two best friend just because I'm confused. We sat in silence during 5 minutes then he start talking
"Did you know that when the sun come down The day then gives way to twilight, a daily phenomenon on the planets of the Solar System that have an atmosphere?"
He look passionate by it and it make me smile.
"Uh yeah I knew that" I says but I didn't understand every words that he said.
The sunset is perfect and the wind of the ocean is in my hair everything is perfect...but I kinda wish I was here Witt JJ.
"Okay now it's time for the sandwiches!" He said bending of on his bag behind him
I hesitate and put my head in my hands.
He try to give me my sandwich but I look in his eyes with a sad tones.
"I can't"
"Why ? It's your favorite sandwiches I-"
"Look pope...you're really sweet and all but ..."
"You have feeling for someone else?" Pope add sadly
"Yeah I-"
"You don't have to continue kiara it's okay...I think I know who it is and I just want to make sure that you are sure about it?"
"Yeah ...I'm...I'm pretty sure I'm sorry pope"
"If he break your heart I swear he's gonna regret it"
"Thank you for getting me and bring those sandwiches"
We laugh a little and then we hug in a friend way.
"All I want is for you to be happy kiara but be prudent"
"Yeah thank you pope"
"P4l? He said showing his hand for a handshake"
"P4l"
My heart is now less heavy and I'm happy to be here with my friend.
