The Real Never Ending Story - Stranger Things cast x reader

A/n: just a lil' disclaimer that this whole book will be from either third person's perspective or first-person perspective (from y/n's perspective aka yours lol) Also this book starts with you already having the role, i skipped all the audition stuff because in my head when i was creating the story, this is how i imagined it, I might change it later though

Y/n pov: 

I stood outside the door shaking. Finally, after all these years, after all the hard work, all the long days auditioning for roles in shows and movies that people would forget me for in 2 minutes, after all that, I stood outside the door which led into Stranger Things 5 table read. It had been really hard getting this role since they weren't even doing auditions for many new characters, only a limited one or two, so my agent and I had to fight for this role. 

Thankfully, the Duffer brothers had given me a shot, and apparently, they liked me! So I got cast in the role of Tara Choudhry an American-Indian girl who lives in the small town of Hawkins, whose life gets turned upside down when she gets plucked into the world of the upside down. 

So, here I stood, outside the door with my hands shaking. They had told us to be there by 9, and it was currently 9:02. I hadn't seen anyone go in, and I had been standing here mumbling to myself for just over a minute. Taking a deep breath, I slowly opened the door making a creaking sound that made me internally cringe. As I walked into the room, I saw that not all the cast was there yet. The only ones I saw were all the older kids, Charlie, Joe, Maya and Natalia, Jamie who played Vecna, Finn Millie and Noah, and David and Winona. They were still missing a good chunk of the cast. I saw Shawn Levy the producer of the show immediately notice me and signaled to the rest of the cast to come meet me. 

'Y/n!! Hi, it's so great to see you again! Was everything okay? Did you have any problem getting here at all?' he asked me whilst shaking my hand. 

'Yea everything was fine. I hope I'm not late though, I tried to get out early from my aunt and uncle's place.' I responded.

'Oh please don't worry about it, in fact, you're actually early! Earlier than most of the cast. Oh, speaking of which, have you met any of them yet?'

'No actually I haven't 

'Well, great timing! Uh, everybody?'

He turned around facing the cast who had already come up and huddled around him, wondering who this new girl was. 

'This is Y/n, she will be Tara Choudhry this season on Stranger Things. Uh Millie?' he signaled at her. 

'Right,' she said 'Hi it's so nice to meet you! I'm Millie!' she said while I held out my hand for her to shake. Oh my Gosh THE Millie Bobby Brown is talking to me, okay, play it cool Y/n , play it cool  I thought/

'Oh my Gosh hi! I'm Y/n it's so nice to meet you! I'm such a huge fan!' I said whilst shaking her hand.

'Omg thank you! you're really pretty btw!'

'thanks'

'Hi I'm Noah!' said a tall boy with brown hair.

'Hi I'm y/n nice to meet you!' he pulled me in for a hug while i was a bit taken aback, still desperately trying to play cool. 

I turned around facing the older kids, as they each started introducing themselves.

'Hi I'm Natalia!' 

'Hey I'm y/n!'

'I'm her boyfriend Charlie, lovely to meet you!'

'Same here, same here, I'm y/n!'

'Hi I'm Joe Keery!' he also pulled me in for a hug. Man these people really are huggers.

'nice to meet you, I'm y/n!'
