"I'm gonna go grab a cup of coffee, Sonny."
"Okay."
"Come on, move a little faster." I hear Fin say as he's walking the rape suspect to an interview room.
"Where's Amanda?" I ask him.
"With the victim at the hospital."
"Oh, okay." I make my way to the little break room we have and pour myself some coffee.
"Liv, Barba's here." I hear Carisi loudly announce.
I turn around and peer through the semi covered break room window to try to see this person. "Oh my God." I say quietly to myself.
"Thanks for the loud introduction, Carisi." Barba says.
"No problem."
"Come in, Barba." Liv gestures him into her office, closing the door behind her after he enters.
I make my way back to my desk.
"You okay Aurelia? You look like you've seen a ghost." Carisi asks.
"Uh, I'm fine. Everything is fine. No ghost seeing here." I chuckle a little afterward.
"Okay, you're kind of being weird. What's up with the coffee you got?"
"Nothing, Sonny. I'm okay. Let's just keep working on the paperwork. There's still a bunch. Each of these cases needs to be organized alphabetically as well as by day and month in the filing cabinets. I'm not sure how much help I am, being new and all."
"You have a new perspective. You can see if the wording is all wrong or if we as a unit screwed up and something is wrong with the whole case."
"I suppose so. Why have you just threw these files all willy-nilly into your cabinet?"
"I just open it up and put the new file on top of the old ones and call it a day. I'm not sure why I haven't organized them. I'm sure Liv has told me to before."
"So I will see you in court tomorrow for the Quinton case." Liv says to Barba as they exit her office.
"I will see you there." He says, smiling at her before turning to leave.
"Oh, Barba, before you go, let me introduce you to our new detective."
"Fuck." I whisper.
"What?" Carisi says.
I mouth the word nothing to him.
I stand up and smile.
"This is Aurelia Vincent. She's all the way from Colorado."
"Nice to meet you." Rafael says as he shakes my hand. His face was slightly shocked to see me, but he keeps his cool. I wonder why he didn't say we already met.
"Likewise." I smile.
"Well I'm off, call if you need me." Barba says.
"See you Rafael." Liv says.
He waves and walks out.
I sit back down and continue to work on the paper work.

"You going home?" Carisi asks me."Uh, oh, it's already ... five!?" I say shocked.
"The day went by quick, some days are like that." Sonny says.
I look around, and pretty much everyone is gone. Liv is still in her office, Fin is gone, and Amanda is too. "Um, I'm gonna stay here for a bit, Carisi."
"Okay, Vincent. Have a good night."
"Night."
"See you tomorrow, Liv!"
"Have a goodnight, Sonny." Liv shouts back to him.
"Aurelia?" Liv calls for me.
"Yes?" I say as I move my chair out to see Liv.
"Come here."
I get up and go to her office.
"Did you have a good first day?"
"Yes."
"Despite all the back paperwork and not enough out in the world time?"
"Yes, why?" I ask.
"Nothing, just wanted to make sure you could handle days in at your desk, is all."
"Yeah, I can." I chuckle a little afterward.
"Well, I have some paperwork for you to take over to Barba. If you wouldn't mind since Carisi just left. Barba is still there. I texted him to let him know someone would be by with papers. "
"Yes, I can."
"Here's the paperwork, and then you can call it a night and go home. I'll text you if something happens."
"Okay, thank you, Liv."
"No problem. Night."
"Night." I say, walking out of Liv's office
I grab my belongings and head out.
