As soon as I blinked there were ten other people spread around the area with two people standing directly across from us, a few feet away.

"Mother, father." Kuroka said as her and Obsidian bowed slightly.

"Hello, are we all ready? Who's this?" The woman Kuroka called mother said, pointing to me.

"Well, uhm, this is...." Kuroka struggled to say.

"Aaliyah. My name is Aaliyah." I interjected.

"Aaliyah. I found her here and went to attack her, but..well."

"Basically Kuroka was beaten by a human." Obsidian said.

Gasps and murmurs were heard from the crowd. But the woman across from us cleared her throat and the sounds ceased.

"Obsidian!" Kuroka said. He shrugged.

"Obsidian, what do you mean human?" She asked.

I have a better question, why does everyone keep calling me a human? What's with that? I thought.

"We will address this later." She says before turning to me. "I am sorry for the inconvenience. Would you like to know what's going on?"

"Gods?" I almost yell in disbelief.

She nods. "Yes, and I am Queen Izinami of Zayus, and this is my husband, King Aizen."

As I stand there thinking, my eyes finally land on Kuroka and her brother.

"Oh, shit." I murmur as I put the pieces together.

Shit shit shit, I just fought with a fucking princess. Oh I'm about to die aren't I?
I was having a silent mental breakdown, trying my best not to show it. Actually, I knew for a fact I wasn't showing it, because I have practiced this at least a thousand times before. Anytime I showed the slightest sign when I was a child, I would get beaten, so I learned to control my body better than most people.

Once I looked up I saw that Kuroka and her brother were staring at me.

"What?" I ask them, my voice normal and fluid.

Kuroka had a worried and confused look on her face as she looked at me, same thing with her brother. After I asked, she looked at her mother.

"Mother, can you explain more about the royal families really quick? Please?"

Her mother looked at her weirdly before nodding.

"The royal family tends to have more..foreign names, mostly Japanese. We tend to be more powerful than the normal gods, with slightly bigger wings and more powers." She said. "Some of those extra powers include telepathy, telekinesis, and hydrokinesis."

I had almost calmed down, but when she said telepathy, all hope of that was gone. Telepathy? As in MIND READING? Fu- shi- oh lord help me. Wait.. ughhhhh. I mentally facepalmed, This is why you have no friends Aaliyah. You are literally having a mini mental breakdown but are still managing to be idiotic at the same time. How?

I hear stifled laughter and I look up from the ground, assuming my gaze had wandered there when I zoned out. As I looked up I saw Kuroka and her brother trying their hardest not to laugh while their parents were completely and totally confused.

"Kuroka, Obsidian. Is something funny?"

"Uh, no, sorry mother." Obsidian said quickly.

"Good, can we start now?"

They both nodded.

"So as many of you know, this is not when we would usually have this meeting." King Aizen said.

The people, or gods, surrounding us nodded.

"This is an urgent matter. The reason we are here today is because Zayus is dying."

Everyone except for the royals gasped and started murmuring.

"That's enough." Aizen said. "The dragon stone is dying. Which means something has happened to the actual Zayus."

Actual Zayus? What is that supposed to mean? Is there a fake Zayus? I thought to myself.

Kuroka came up behind me and whispered, "Zayus is our land, but it is named after the dragon that created it."

I stiffened. Dragons? Created?

"You see Aaliyah, there are three lands." The queen explained. "Those lands are called Zayus, Aerix, and Pyrus. The lands are named after the actual dragon triplets, who made the dragon stones, connecting them to their land, and producing a shield. Whenever the dragon is weakened, the stone is weakened as well, which means the shield for that land is weakened."

I thought for a moment before speaking. "I deeply, sincerely apologize for all of my questions but do you know what has happened to Zayus that has caused this?"

"No need to apologize dear. Zayus, we fear, is may be captured, moribund possibly." She said while she looked down.

I could feel her sadness as if it were my own. My mother thought it as a gift when I was born, but I thought it a curse. I could never control it, so I felt other people's feelings even when I didn't want to.
But this time it was different. Yes, I felt her emotions like my own, like I would usually. But I also felt my own sadness, sympathy?

Poor Zayus, I honestly wish a could help. But a human can do nothing compared to a god.

Beside me I heard laughing. As I turn I see Kuroka standing there her face scrunched up trying not to laugh while her brother is dying laughing beside her.

"Obsidian, is there something amusing?" The king suddenly spoke.

"No...sorry...well, yes, something was funny." He answered, trying to catch his breath.

"Care to explain?"

Obsidian stood straight. "Sure. Basically, Aaliyah was going on a rant and at one point she thought, and I quote, 'Poor Zayus, I honestly wish a could help. But a human can do nothing compared to a god.' Can you believe that?" He started laughing again.

Around them, the gods started to laugh. Even the queen had to lightly cover her mouth to hide her laugh.

A sudden wave of sadness and humiliation washed over me. What did I do? What's wrong with thinking that?

I looked around, my breathing came fast before I stopped it, breathing normally. Kuroka came up to me and placed her hand on my shoulder, startling me.

"If you are wondering we we are laughing, look." She made a motion with her hand pointing towards the queen who looked like she was getting ready to speak.

As she cleared her throat, the others started to quiet down.

"I'm sorry Aaliyah, the thing is, it's funny you referred to yourself as human." She explained.

"Why?" I asked. That's what I am...

"Your aura, it's stronger than any mythical creature we have ever encountered, stronger than even ours. If you were a human, your aura would be at around less than 5% of that of a normal gods."

I was stunned. So...I wasn't human? How in the hell is that possible?

"I think you were disguised as a human." She said as she spread her massive wings and flew over to stand in front of me.

She reached out and hovered her finger over my forehead.

"May I?" She asked.

I hesitated for a moment. She could kill me right now... but what if she's right? I slowly breathed in and out before nodding.

She placed a finger on my head. I thought it was all okay at first, confused on what she did. But then, I felt the most excruciating pain burst through my skull. I fought the urge to scream, although it was my first instinct.

The queen quickly gathered everyone and moved back to the other side of the pond. What looked like a shield surrounded me.

That was the last thing I saw before it came.
