And so it begins...

"No, don't put that there! Put it next to the tv please." Wanda told Calliope as they were putting up the Christmas decorations.

"Wan, you're lucky I'm even helping you with this stupid crap. Wherever I put it, it's going." She ended up putting it where Wanda asked her to anyway. "There. Happy?"

Wanda nodded. "Yes. Thank you Callie"

She nodded and sighed. "Why do you even care about this stupid holiday anyway?"

Wanda gasped. "It's not stupid! These decorations are beautiful and the holiday is the one day a year where we all get together like normal human beings! Now go hang those lights by the door please."

Callie scoffed. "Still stupid." She mumbled under her breath as she grabbed the lights and teleported them up onto the door and began laying them down on the nails that were already in the walls from previous years.

Tony walked in and looked around. "Looks great girls! You really outdid yourselves this year!"

Wanda smiled and thanked Tony while Callie just kept hanging lights.

"Someone's really feeling the holiday spirit." Tony said sarcastically. Callie glared at him for a second before sighing and finishing the lights.

"The lights look nice, Callie." Wanda said, mixing cookie mix into a bowl.

"Gee, thanks. I feel so accomplished." She crossed her arm and looked around. "You guys have fun with... whatever this is. I'm going in my room. I'd rather watch moms torture their children (dance moms) than be blinded by reindeer and snowmen." She walked out and sighed. "God being around these people is draining." She mumbled.

She heard a chuckle from next to her and looked she saw Bucky walking down the hall and he leaned on the wall next to her. "They are, aren't they?"

She tilted her head back. "Yes. Very much so. They keep shoving cinnamon flavored candles in my nose and they tried to get me to put glitter on the ceiling. Ridiculous."

Bucky smiled. "You gotta admit, it's pretty cool right? I mean, everyone gets presents and we're happy and there's tons of food."

Callie shrugged. "I just never had anything like this before. I don't really remember anything from when I was a kid, and after that... I just didn't celebrate holidays."

Bucky looked at her with a mix of sympathy and shock. "You've never celebrated Christmas?"

She shook her head. "Not that I remember. I probably did when I was little." Bucky nodded and just stared at her for a moment.

"I think you'll like Christmas, but you have to give it a try."

She scoffed and shook her head again. "Honestly, this Christmas bullshit seems pointless. I mean, the whole holiday was based off of this idea of a savior who died for us. Even if that's true, people have defeated the idea so much that it's down to Santa and Frosty the freaking snowman."

Bucky laughed at her honesty. "You seem to have a strong opinion on this, so I'm not gonna try and change your mind, but I think you should give it a chance. Who knows. You might be surprised." He had a singsong tone to his voice as he nudged her shoulder with his arm. "Just try it. What's the worst that could happen?"

"My death from the explosion of color that vomited into the living room." She said flatly.

Bucky chuckled lightly at her comment. "C'mon, it can't be that bad."

"You haven't been in there yet." She said, looking down the hallway. "I was planning on going to my room, so I'll see you later."

Bucky looked at her and after a second he nodded. "Alright. But don't forget that Tony scheduled a meeting for tonight. It's mandatory."

She started walking away and yelled back to him. "I'd like to see him try to get me to go!" She got to her room and shut the door behind her. She walked over to her bed and plopped down, burying her head into her pillow.

These people are going to be the death of me...
