Puzzled Heart

I told you my heart is not a puzzle,
But it was puzzling you.
I told you my heart was two pieces broken,
And so you matched the two.

You picked up the pieces,
And you them into a perfect fit.
You showed my heart like a prize,
And I let you have it.

We gambled like monopoly,
And later tick tac toed as in XOX.
You solved me like an equation.
Solved me then made me your ex.

I realized this wasn't "Operation."
My heart is not a game.
You slowly started fading,
And put my heart to shame.

You did what every bored child would do,
You tore me up again.
Now my heart hurts,
Because it's a puzzle in pain.
