Chapter - 2 - RUMORS

After reading till this point you could think that the rumors are about Shizumi San, and it's not wrong thinking that way, but the rumors were not about her, they were about the most popular girl in our class - Kana Seto San.

Now the interesting part about her rumors was that they were very unbelievable and yet were spreading in the atmosphere like fire.

What I heard about the rumors was that some of our class's girls saw her at a club, but being at the club was not the problem. They saw her with some unknown adult men dancing and drinking that too being under aged. Now, if you think it's normal or not a big deal, go and get your head checked by a psychiatrist.

Anyway, the interesting part was, Seto San was just the polar opposite of what is described in the rumors. Along with being popular she is polite to everyone and helps others, also liked by boys and girls alike. She is my next-door neighbour and even helps me with my studies.

And that's why the rumors are hard to believe.

"Hey Shizumi San, what do you think about the rumors"I asked.

"(pause...) I - I don't really know" replied Shizumi San.

Yeah! This was her reply, but then I didn't expect anything more.

But the rumors didn't last more than 2 - 3 days, as everybody got busy during the mid-terms, but I wonder if they were true, or maybe the girls were lying but why would they, I don't remember Seto San doing anything that would give others the chance to hold a grudge against her, or can it be that the girls were telling the truth.

Well it was time for mid-terms and everything went to normal, Seto San was breaking through the tests as usual, I personally didn't ask her anything about the rumors as it would have been too rude. And after the continuous 3 days of hellish mid-terms, it was over.

And the next day during attendance - "! Kano Seto San!" called the teacher.

"Oh! She's absent today"

But little did we know about her absence - or I would say disappearance.

It was about 3 days now, that Seto San disappeared, the police were informed, our classmates - no the whole school knew about her disappearance, searches were going on and it was no kidnapping because if it was there would be a reason mostly money but there were no phone calls from any kidnapper. I was her neighbour and was asked many questions regarding her.

After 5 days of searching and investigating, she was found - DEAD.

What a turn of events...
