Chapter 1

Charlie stood in his house holding his bottle of whiskey so tight his knuckles were turning white. Tears streamed down his face onto the white tile floor. His living room was a complete mess. It had been a few hours since his girlfriend, Adrianna, had broken up with him. They had been dating for a few years now, and she dumped him in a text with three words. 

Charlie stumbled over to the bar and set down the near empty bottle of whiskey. His vision had blurred from the tears in his eyes. How long had she been planning to do this? Did she even plan it? Was it an impulse thing?

He shook his head as his phone sounded for what seemed like the 40th time. His brother, Chris, was trying to get ahold of him. He was never one to keep people waiting on texts. So, it started making Chris nervous and he began calling his phone. Even his close friend; Dylan O'Brien was blowing up his phone. 

He walked outside and stared out at the setting sun on the Los Angeles skyline. He noticed a bright flash of light in the corner of his left eye and found a group of paparazzi below aiming their cameras at him, shouting his name, trying to get his attention.

He headed back inside where he collapsed face first into the queen-sized bed in his bedroom, with a groan.

He turned his head and looked at the phone in his hand. Dylan had called him 5 more times and texted at least 25 times. He rolled his eyes as he rose to his feet. 

Charlie left his house and was immediately swarmed by the paparazzi, bombarding him with questions.

"Charlie!"

"Charlie, what happened to Adrianna?"

"Where's Adrianna?!"

"Did you know that Adrianna is currently with Chase Stokes?"

"Where is she?"

"Charlie!"

"Charlie!"

"Rumor has it that Adrianna dumped you, is that true?" 

Charlie placed sunglasses over his eyes as flashes of light from the cameras nearly blinded him. 

"Guys, I'm just trying to get a coffee. Can you please. just let me go?" He said with a sigh standing next to his red 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S. "Sure sorry, man." A frequent media person, David stated as the swarm moved away from the movie star. 

Charlie entered the German sports car and turned over the engine. It came alive with a loud throaty rumble. 

He peeled off down the street leaving the paparazzi behind him. He yanked off his sunglasses and tossed them into the passenger seat beside with an exhalation of breath. 

He turned up the radio and the fast-paced, rapid song of Paramore; "Misery Business," was in the midst of playing. 

Charlie pulled into the parking lot of the nearest Starbucks, where he found a swarm of paparazzi near the entrance.

How did they know I would be here? I didn't tell them where I was going.

That's when he saw a blonde head of hair. He climbed out his car and squinted his eyes, taking a step forward.

"Taylor! Over here! Taylor!" 

"Taylor!"

"Taylor!" 

Taylor Swift was currently trying to make her way through the crowd as dozens of camera flashes lit her face up with a white light.

Charlie moved towards the crowd before pulling Taylor away from the middle of the crowd. "Hey, Taylor. Nice to meet you, name's Charlie. Chris Evans' brother. Honored to meet you. Like a ride?" Charlie said. Taylor looked at the Porsche behind her before smiling at the actor. Charlie smirked his famous smirk and opened the passenger side door and Taylor climbed in. 

"Charlie! Are you dating Taylor?" 

"Are you two a thing?"

"What about Adrianna?"

"Does she know?"

"Adrianna can go fuck herself." Charlie spat before getting in the driver's seat and peeling away with a whine of the engine.

"Thanks." Taylor voiced. "No problem. I hate them. They think they're entitled for our private information. Bunch of assholes. Except David. He works for TMZ, this is the only job he has to pay rent. Poor guy. I've tried getting him a job to work for me, but he likes photography." Charlie rambled.

"Ah." Taylor sounded.

"Sorry. I'm Charlie." He reintroduced. "Taylor." She answered. "I know. I'm sort of a big fan of yours." He pointed out. "Oh! Really?" She asked. "I am, always have been." He explained. 

"Got a favorite song?" She asked with a smile. "Hmm, tough choice. You have so many good options. Let me see, I think it's a tie between "Cardigan" and "Don't Blame Me."" He voiced with a lop-sided grin looking over at her. 

"Good choices." She complimented. "Great songs." He added. "Favorite album?" She questioned. "Ooh, Reputation. Without a doubt." He answered. "Should have guessed." She stated. 

"Why is that?" Charlie sounded. "I've seen your action movies. Your romance movies. You seem the type to like a bad girl." She said with a smirk. "I only like my bad girls to be named Taylor Swift." He flirted. 

"I'm honored." She stated. "The honor is all yours, darling." Charlie added. "What's your favorite movie of mine?" He asked her. "Top Gun: Maverick." She said without hesitation. "Wow! Didn't have to think about that one." He sounded. "Wait, is it because of the shirtless scene where Miles Teller and I dance?" He inquired.

"What?" She asked in a falsetto. "I don't know what you're talking about." She added. "Mm-hmm. Sure, you don't." He voiced. 

"Okay, what about you? What's your favorite movie then?" She asked. "Magnificent Seven. I absolutely love this movie. Big fan of westerns." Charlie answered. "Interesting, never took you to like cowboy movies." She spoke. "What did you take me to like?" He questioned. "Fast & Furious." She answered. "Oh God." He said with a chuckle. 

"You give me a Paul Walker-vibe." She pointed out. "Paul Walker-vibe? I'll take that as a compliment." He continued as he pulled up to the coffee shop.

"I saw about Adrianna. I'm sorry to hear about that. I never liked her." Taylor said quietly. Charlie took in a sharp inhalation of breath, nodding his head. "Thanks." He stated. "Here, if you ever need someone to talk to." She said taking out a pen and writing something on the top of his right hand. 

Her phone number. 

"Call me." She said before getting out. "Will do." He whispered.
