Aunty Brandy

"Hey Mum, Hey Dad!" Bluey calls out as she comes home from school. "Hey, kid!" Dad calls out from his office. "Hey, Bluey! How was your day?" Mom calls out from the kitchen. "My day was good Mum! I invited all my friends over here so we could have a welcome party for the new kids Striker and Pua!" Mum walks to Bluey. "Honey I texted you back saying that you'd have to cancel that...Did you not get my text?" Bluey confusedly looks at her phone. She curses, really really quietly. "Aw Darn it! Why do I have to cancel Mom?" "You know your aunt Brandy right?" Bluey nods slowly. "Yeaaaah... Isn't she your sister who visited us like four or five years ago?" Mom smiles tightly. "Four years ago actually.." She mutters under her breath. "Never mind that, anyways she's coming to visit you and Bingo!" "Wow! Thats cool! But did I really have to cancel my party for her very sudden appearance?" "Bluey.." Mom says, not smiling anymore. "Ugh fine. I'll go cancel the party!" Mom smiles and pulls Bluey into a hug. "Thank you, sweetie. This really means a lot to me and your Dad okay?" "Okay.." Bluey says.

Bluey pulls out her phone and sighs.

Bluey: Hey guys. I have really really bad news. My aunt Brandy is coming to visit today and I'm going to have to cancel the party. I'm really really sorry about this and if I could push my aunt's visit back a few days I would.... But I can't. Once again I'm really really really sorry!

Pua: Aw Bluey it's okay! Having a party on a school night was a little ambitious anyway!

Pua: Plus my rents already said no! 🤗

Bluey: Okay that makes me feel a bit better, ig

Striker: Yeah Bluey! It's the thought that really counts and the fact that you wanted to celebrate us coming to your school means a lot! 👍

Mckenzie: Yeah don't feel bad

Chole: Bluey the thought is what counts girlie!

Jean Luc: Agreed!

Winnie: Yup

Honey: Mhm

Indy: Yeah Bluey! Why don't we just reschedule for this Saturday (a.k.a tmr) at my house okay?

Indy: Maybe about 5 pm?

Bluey: Okay yea that's cool! I have to go now my aunt just pulled up. Ttyl guys! And thanks for being so understanding! ✌️😊

Bluey puts her phone down and rushes to meet her aunt. She opens the front door to a dog that looks a lot like Bingo. "Omigosh! Hi Bluey!" She screams pulling her into a big hug. "Long time no see Aunty!" Bluey says smiling hard. "Ohhh I've missed you!" Aunt Brandy says. "And I've missed you too!" Aunt Brandy finally lets go and takes a look around. "Hey, where's Bingo?" Bluey shrugs. "She's sleeping over at Lila's house. They've been besties for a really long time!" "Aw, well I'm not gonna gonna get to see her then! Ughhh. Well, where's your mom then?" "She's in the kitchen fixing dinner." "Okay then well let us go meet her." Bluey nods and follows her aunt to the kitchen where they find Chili humming and stirring pasta. "Chiliiiiiii...." Aunt Brandy says. "Brandy?!" Aunt Brandy nods and runs to Chili to give her a big hug. "Ohhhhhhhh. Brandy, where have you been?" Chili says when she finally releases her sister. "Well, I was-" "Um excuse me. Before you jump into a long conversation that will probably take twenty years to finish can I please be excused to my room?" Chili nods. "Of course Bluey!" Bluey runs off to her room. "So anyways I was coming back to see you four years ago back in February when I got a call for a casting in a brand-new show called How About That? But it turns out that the call was a scam and I got stuck in North America for a while and now I'm here!" "Wow! Well, I'm sorry girl! That must've sucked!" Brandy sighs. "Yeah, it did.." "Did they not have cell reception in the U.S.? Or what?" Brandy sighs yet again. "Chili please please please don't be like that! You know that if I would have had the means to call or email or something I would have! I just.....was in a really really bad spot and didn't know what to do okay? But the point is I'm here and I get to see my sister's beautiful family, okay?" "Okay," Chili says, slightly warily.

Hours later Bluey gets called for dinner. "Bluey! Time for dinner!" Bluey runs to the dinner table and sits beside Aunty Brandy. "So... Bluey... How's school? Do you have a lil' boyfriend yet? Hmmm?" Bluey smiles. "Well, I-" "No, no she doesn't!" Bandit says firmly, sitting down at the table, as Chili brings out the food and sets it on the table. "Daaaaaaaaaad!" "What? We've already talked about this Bluey. Now don't get embarrassed in front of your aunt! Do you understand?" Bluey sighs, as Chili sits down."Yes." "Yes, what?" "Yes sir.' "Thank you! Now say the blessing." "Thank you for this food, thank you for my mother who prepared this food, and please bless others who are less fortunate. Amen." "Amen." The rest of them say. "So Chili...What's the spread?" Aunt Brandy asks. Bluey's Mom stands up looking very prideful and tells them about the chicken alfredo pasta salad that she worked all day to prepare. When she finishes and sits down everyone claps for her. "Wow, Chili! That's amazing!" Chili turns a bit red. "Thank you, sis!" They eat heartily and happily. When the meal is finished Aunt Brandy stands up. "Well, I think it's time for me to get going!" "Aw okay," Chili says. "They all take their time hugging her and then she walks to her car and drives away. "I really do hope she stays out of trouble!" Chili says under her breath.
