My mind was racing a million miles an hour. Yet I couldn't even put a sentence together and my thoughts were only coming out as chunks of words.
Zombies. Protect. Lola. Death. Government failure. Life.
People were running around. Pushing them out of the door. Frantically trying to get out of the singular door. Even Mrs. Flores was trying to push her way out the door.
I knew i had to take action. I piled a ton of chairs, pushed a tile out of the way, and climbed into the ceiling. Knocking the pile down with my foot. I put the tile back into place.
I needed to make a to-do list to sort things out in my brain.
To-do:
- suvive
- observe zombies
- *find Lola*Easy. Simple. I laughed quietly at my sarcasm. I heard weird groaning and moaning coming from down below. I found a hole in the ceiling and looked below.
There were green tinted people with injuries in multiple places limping around. They were looking at the mess of chairs I had left behind.
They all had different injuries but I noticed every single one had a bite mark on their collar bone.
I mentally started making another list. Lists were kinda my thing.
Zombies:
- has bite mark on collar boneI might need this information sometime. Who knows. I had to crawl very carefully, not to make any noise and/or not to break one of the tiles and fall.
I crawled towards the direction of the girl's bathroom. Since I was in the ceiling I would be able to see everything in the bathroom. Good and bad unfortunately.
I hit my head on another person's head and my heart practically stopped.
"Ow watch where you're going bulldozer. Some of us are trying to escape the zombies. Wait. Are you a zombie?!?! Show me both sides of your collarbone." A girl's voice chattered
Unfortunately it was a necessity at the time. I showed her both sides of my collarbone and then without saying anything she showed me both sides of hers.
"You noticed the bite marks on the shoulder too huh? I'm Everett. What's your name?" I asked
"Lorena. So you're the one that stood up to Mira and got her expelled." She laughed
Of course with my luck I would have to encounter her minion.
"She deserved it" I decided to say
"Honestly, she did. She was a crap friend. I was only her friend so she didn't bully me." She tossed her blonde hair over her shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah. We could contemplate this all day. But I need to find the girls bathroom"
Lorena wrinkled her nose, "Ew. Perv."
I rolled my eyes, "whatever. I need to find Lola. She went to the bathroom and probably doesn't know what's going on."
"Your girlfriend? I saw her run to the storage room in the library and lock herself in it. I've been exploring these vents for awhile. Haven't encountered any zombies so you should be good."
I nodded, "she not my girlfriend. But thanks. Want to come with me?"
"Nah. Peace out chicken butt." And with that she left
Lola, here I come.
