Lynn opened her window carefully. Ren was there. He signalled her to come down, she had promised him a play date. She had completely forgotten. Her parents didn't know. They would never let her play with other kids, they thought it would lower their status. Lynn never listened to a word they'd say. She quietly crept in the hallway, she had to make sure no one was awake. She put her ear against her parents' door. They were both snoring. She then checked brother Allen's room, he too was asleep. The last room was sister Arya. She walked to the door getting her ear in position but someone had opened the door. She looked up seeing Arya exhausted in her pyjama's but confused. She helped Lynn up to her feet.

"Lynn? Gosh I thought you were some paparazzi who broke in." She looked at Lynn from head to toe. "It's 5 am as well and you're all dressed." She narrowed her sleepy eyes slowly. "Where do you think you're going?" Lynn shakes her head. Why was she awake? She looked back to Arya who was leaning on her bedroom door.

"You can't tell mommy and daddy." Arya was wide awake now.

"Why? What did you do?." She shakes her head once more. Would she be angry if she knew? Is it bad for her to play with others?

"I made a friend, his name is Ren." She only began to laugh at Lynn.

"That's so cute, why would they be mad at you?" She shakes her head again.

"No." She said, "No, you don't understand. They don't like it when I play with other kids. They shout at me that they're filthy animals and slap me if I don't agree." Arya looked at her younger sister. She put her hand in hers.

"I'll cover you ok, but you owe me an explanation." Lynn nodded her head in delight. Arya was the only nice and kind hearted person in her family, that was why she was her favourite. She made her way downstairs making sure her footsteps heard like a mouse. She then opened the heavy front door. Ren was waiting behind the gate. When he saw her he grabbed her arm.

"We need to talk." Was all he said as he dragged her to Their hideout. She didn't really understand what he had meant. They had always had play dates together but he never used to tell her that they needed to talk. It seemed to be something urgent.

"What is it." She said excited, but she then felt quite worried when he looked at her only in tears. She ran to her best friend and hugged him tight. "What happened? Was someone mean to you again." He shakes his head slowly.

"We can't be friends anymore." Lynn's mind fell blank. Those were the words she never wanted to hear. The words her parents had warned her when they had lectured her. She couldn't believe it was real, but when she looked up at Ren. When she looked at him the words were there, she could read it like it was a fairytale.

"Why?" She asked. "Do you not like me anymore?"

"No, my parents won't let me see you again."

"Do what I do." Lynn insisted. "Sneak out, it's not that hard."

"Not for you." He said, looking away. "I'm sorry." Was all he said next, then he was gone.

When Lynn returned to her home, everyone was fast asleep. She entered her bedroom and collapsed in her bed in tears. She was alone again. There was no one she could play with anymore. She cried and cried and eventually fell asleep

When she awoke there was some people near their window. She shot up in fright, and then realised, they were not human at all. Monsters with razor sharp teeth that could pluck her head off. Hideous ruined faces and a figure she could not describe. It's not real  we're the words she kept saying to herself. It's just a dumb nightmare, and me and Ren are still friends. But the monsters had approached much closer so that she could hear them breathe.

"Don't even make a sound, or everyone is dead." Lynn nodded frightened, but a long scream for help had escaped her mouth. Her eyes filled with tears. Would her parents come to save her? Would anyone come? One of the creatures slapped her face. Pain. Pain is all of which she felt. It felt as if daggers had stabbed her. The door slammed open. It was Arya!

"PAPARAZZI!" She then paused. She can see them too. "Get away from my sister." She said angrily. Save me  was all her eyes were telling her sister, tell me it's another nightmare like the others. But she was too frightened to speak. Neither of them had seen real hideous looking monsters before. It was only in storybooks and cartoons they existed in. Lynn took a glance at her sister, the last glance before she was gone.
