The smell in the air it was something that was almost magical in the worst interpretation of that word. In the middle of a broken wooden cabin, a boy with a thin frail body and rags for clothes kneeled while sobbing. Almost in a daze he hit the floor only to reel back from the pain around him the corpses of three adults and several children were rotting as if they had been dead for weeks the boy was staring at this he had know idea how this came to pass why this happened or who to blame. He had just finished his rounds trying to beg for money only after a week of this. Did he get the smallest of some money, a single copper coin. The despair the thought it was all for naught the effort would amount to nothing was harsh but even worse was the fear the boy had no where to go and little skills to survive. Still crying the boy started walking out of the cabin the door was on the ground ripped from its hinges and fractured on the floor outside was a small puddle of mud and just a little further fresh green grass even further the boy could see trees some yellowing as the season turns. He continued to walk through the thinly wooded area until he hit a road stretching further than he could see to one side, and on the other, a distance away twords the horizon were many small buildings. The boy continued walking until he had heard the sound of horses galloping and the wheels of a carriage. The sound was deafening as the hooves came closer, and only then did he realize they were almost on top of him. He leaped to the side as hard as he could, scraping his right leg on the ground oddly enough. Almost no blood came, and the boy laid their without making a noise. The sound of hooves hitting the gravel slowed as it grew distant. Suddenly out of the carriage a buitifull woman appeared wearing a white dress she had long curly blond hair down to her back and was wearing a worried look on her face following behind her a man with well groomed slicked back hair and a black suit following behind her. The couple was glamorous, to say the least, and approached the boy. The well-groomed man was the first to speak boy are you alright. As the boy heard these words, he was almost cringing as he wouldn’t dare hold hope for some sort of turning point. The man picked the boy up amd as he did the boy was screaming at the top of his lungs to let him go but as he did the woman came and grabbed his legs she did a small tingle could be felt and the scratches on the boys leg were moving somwhat visibly once they looked as if nothing more than a single small scratch that wouldn’t even bleed the woman stoped she nelt over grabbing her knees panting Suddenly a man dressed in thin cotton clothes with a brown leather jacket and leggings on his thighs appeared and said my lady you can't not for an urchin of the streets think how many of these are their your father can only protect you so much here. The well-groomed man interjected Lilly can do whatever she wants peaseant. Lilly looked at the man sten I understand your bias but if we're to make this work between us you need to be more understanding and Rodger I know your worried especially with the recent attacks but that's is exactly why we're here before more kids like this die or even worse become one of them. Sten looked at the boy in his arms with an expression of mixed emotions. He paused for a moment before loudly declaring he would help the urchin. To this, Lilly looked at him as if annoyed but said nothing. Instead, she turned to the carriage, looking at Roger she stated we need to prepare some space and food in the carriage.
