Flashback continues..

Knock-Knock-Knock

There was a knock on the door waking up Sana from her slumber. Hearing the  sound of water splashing, she concluded that Sidharth was in the bathroom getting freshened up. The knocks got louder startling her. Her heart was beating at double it's normal speed.

The loud knocking sound didn't allow her mind to think anything. She sauntered to the door and unlatched it with her shivering hand but the person on the other side seemed too desperate hence before she could pull it,the door was pushed open awide.

A man in his early 50s stared at her from top to toe as if she were some alien. She put her head down as she was still wearing Sidharth's clothes which were baggy for her.

"Who are you?", The man barked angrily. Sana startled at his loud yelling.

"S..S..Sana..", She stuttered in fear.

"Sana who? What are you doing here?", He yelled loudly.

She was already having period cramps along with mood swings. His yelling worsened things for her and made tears gush out of her beautiful and innocent eyes.

"I.. I.. I..", Sana sulked unable to form sentence. Moreover what was she going to explain? She didn't even know who that person was and why he was raising his voice at her.

"Kaka (Uncle in Marathi), She is my sister..", came a male voice from behind the man. Sana peeked at the unknown saviour over the man's shoulder, totally perplexed.

"Adith? Is she really your sister?", The man asked turning to Adith.

"Yes Kaka, she stays in a ladies hostel with her friends which is far from here but her office is close to this place. Yesterday due to an emergency, I asked her to stay here with me. It wasn't safe for her to travel alone that far. Now that the situations are better, she will go from here. I am sorry Kaka, I couldn't inform you earlier.", Adith apologized.

"Oh!! It's my bad. I didn't know she was your sister. Since I rented it to bachelors, I was angered to see an unknown girl. I didn't want any illicit acts happening here.", The landlord said.

"Kaka, be rest assured. We belong to a well cultured families and know what is right and wrong.", Said Adith.

"Hmmm.. sorry.. Her silence raised my suspicion and temper at the same speed. (To Sana) Why did you start sobbing instead of telling that you are his sister?", Asked the ladlord to Sana.

Sana nervously looked at the landlord and then at Adith.

"Kaka.. Though we named her Anika (Another name of Goddess Durga, meaning Fearless in Sanskrit), she is a very shy and sensitive girl. Your enraged voice would have startled her. If you had asked her calmly she would have answered calmly.", Said Adith.

"Anika? Didn't you say your name was Sana?", the landlord asked Sana in confusion.

"Aaa... Sana is her pet name Kaka. Her actual name is Anika. A for Adith, A for Anika, you see? (To Sana) Hey VeDi (Mad/Idiot in Marathi), why did you tell him your pet name? You know Baba (Dad) spent twice the money on your naming ceremony than mine. So much partiality for the darling daughter yet you take pride in telling your pet name to everyone than your actual one.", Adith scolds her like an elder brother.

"Sorry Bhau..(brother in Marathi)", Sana utters innocently with a sad pout.

"Typical jealous yet overprotective brother!! Stop scolding the poor child. She already cried enough because of me. Girl, you need to be stronger to stay in this city. Adith, make sure you drop her safely to her hostel.", The landlord instructs Adith before turning to leave satisfied with Adith's reasons and answers.
