Song: Eye Of The Tiger

By: Survivor

"So many times it happens too fast

You change your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Rising up to the challenge of our rival"

You change your passion for gloryDon't lose your grip on the dreams of the pastYou must fight just to keep them alive It's the eye of the tigerIt's the thrill of the fightRising up to the challenge of our rival"

we arrived at the restaurant and it seemed to be very private. almost as if it was on purpose. I walked over to the table with Esther and we sat down in front of a woman. the woman was gorgeous she had beautiful green eyes with ash brown hair which beautifully went along with her perfectly styled clothes. from head to toe, she was perfect. Esther told me that she was the wedding planner and I felt a sense of hope for the wedding seeing how well put together the planner looked.

esther dropped me off at the house and waited for me to get inside safely before telling the driver to drive off. she was a very nice and polite woman which I loved about her. I walked into the house and started to head upstairs. I heard loud thudding and stopped in my tracks. someone was hitting something and it scared me. he wasn't here. he can't hurt me. I repeated over and over in my head as I began hyperventilating.

apparently, he heard me. he stopped what he was doing and ran over asking if I was okay. As he ran over to me I cornered myself into a wall seeing as he has fighting tape on his wrists. I closed my eyes waiting for him to hit me but instead, I felt his arms wrap around me. usually, I got hit for crying I was told I was a baby for crying.

"hey it's okay I'm here I'm here," he emphasized as he embraced me endearingly

I hugged him for a while until my tears stopped flowing and I mustered up the courage to say

"Can you teach me?" I asked while letting go of his body I hand clung to so tightly just mere seconds ago

"Teach you what princess?" he asked while looking down at me

"To fight," I said while looking at the tape around his hands

he looked down at his hands and looked back at me squinting his eyes before saying

"Okay but you have to be careful not to punch too hard or you'll bleed," he said while bringing his hand up to my face to show me the blood on his knuckles

"Follow me," he said while walking away into a hallway downstairs I had never been to before. of course, I was curious about what was down the hallway but I decided not to invade his privacy completely

we arrived at the room and it appeared to be a gym specifically for training to fight. it had big red punching bags scattered around the room with small ones hung to the ceiling and a big fighting ring as the centerpiece. it had some weights and yoga mats in the corner as well as a bench press but that was about all of the equipment there was.

"let me see your hands," he said tape in one hand and his hand out to hold mine in the other.

he gently grabbed my hand and carefully wrapped the tape around it being sure not to wrap it too tight or too loose.

"Okay that looks good" he stated

"Before we start official training in the next couple of days we have to test your skill to see what level you are at currently" he recited

"so how do I do that?" I asked curiously having no idea what I was about to get myself into

"Hit me as hard as you can," he said while looking at my petite small figure.

*thud* I landed a blow on him and he just looked at me for a second

"Oh my god did that hurt?!? I'm so sorr- "

"ahahaha" "phh-" "We have a long way to go before you can kick ass" he chuckled

he continued on with teaching me the basics like how to perfect my stance and how to punch without hurting my fists. he told me that it takes more force and energy to swing and miss than it does to swing and hit so my best shot at beating any man was to avoid the punch at all costs cause if I do get hit even one time I'm defeated. men are genetically stronger than women and we weren't gonna train me to be a bodybuilder in the short amount of time we had until he struck again. we had to train me to be a fighter, a real one.

every day we woke up at 6:00 am and ran laps around the pool in the backyard for a half hour after that we would lift some weights until 7:00 am and we hit the punching bags till 7:30 am then we hit the showers and he would head off to work while I was free to roam around the house or, if I liked I could stay and keep training for as long as I wanted.

we continued with the training for almost two weeks and pretty soon those wedding bells started ringing louder and louder meaning every time they rang I was one step closer to marrying a man I didn't really love I mean yeah of course he was an attractive man but I always thought of marriage as a transaction of love, not a transaction of service.
