Teal:
White light shone from my almost burning hands that were laid across Connor's face. Deep at the bottom of the pool in my bedroom, I focus on directing power through Connor's veins, hoping it would burn up the poison and save him. I can hear the guards yelling above us. All yelling ceases once my father appears in the room in a poof of bright white light. I could see the flash of white light from where I float on the pool's bottom. "Silence! Where is my daughter?" he demands.
"She's down in the pool holding the injured guard, Connor," the guard says.
"What happened here?" Poseidon bellows.
"A woman broke into your daughter's chambers, attacking her. The guard Connor had a green poisonous powder thrown in his face. Your daughter wouldn't let us take him from her. She and Connor are now in the pool with the seer," the guard respectfully explains.
"Why was I not summoned?" Poseidon yells.
I listen from the watery depths as I put everything, I have into willing the poison to burn up to nothing within Connor's veins. A splash sounds to my left causing me to act defensive. I will flip if anyone lays a hand on me! I can't stand the idea of anyone other than Connor or Bianca touching me. If any of those guards jump into this pool, I won't be able to control myself. I'm so angry and defensive I easily could kill in defense of this Merman in my arms, I think frantically. Keeping my hands on Connor's face, I turn my head. Bright white light met my eyes as I bare my teeth, hissing in warning only to have Bianca yell at me.
"Teal, it's just your father. Pull yourself together, he's not a threat," she says hurriedly.
As the light dispersed, I finally can see my father in his siren form in the water. He swims forward with a flip of his green tail, grasping his golden trident in his right hand. His white beard and hair float in the water behind him as he moves forward.
"Daughter, please, let me help. I care about Connor as much as you do, if not more," Poseidon pleads.
"I doubt that, considering he's my mate, Father," I spit out with steel in my voice. For some reason I instinctively know the knowledge is safe with my father, even though Bianca's fear sits plainly on her face for me to see.
Shock washes over my father's face as he pales slightly.
"Whatever you do, daughter, don't tell anyone else he's your mate. I will have to push to change our rules, but that won't come easily. I'm the god and King of Atlantis but changing political and ancient rules is hard even for me. Especially since I lost the majority of my power thanks to Zeus cursing all of Atlantis and our family."
I nod my head in understanding, then close my eyes and bite my lip in an attempt to continue focusing on flooding Connor's blood stream with my newly discovered healing power.
"Please let me help, daughter," my father says as he swims closer to where I hold Connor in my arms.
Giving in, I grit my teeth together, resisting the urge to attack anyone who comes near him. "Okay," I grit out as I pull my hands away from his face, all the while keeping a firm grip on his lower half with my tail.
My father reaches forward and places his hands where mine had been. Power infused with white light shines from the palms of his hands, penetrating the skin of Connor's face. I watch, amazed as the blood and all signs of injury disappear before my eyes.
"How did you do that? Did it work?" I ask, in shock.
"Yes, I think it worked. I will summon a doctor to check him over. He will need to rest, but he should be good as new in a few hours," Poseidon says.
