"Alrighty. School doesn't start officially until the bell rings. So we have a little time. Jason, checklist?"
"Yes. IPads?" He asks.
We all replies with 'yes' .
"Emoji app and lips that are SEALED?!" He says.
"Yup!"
"GO!" We all yell.
RIIIINNNNGGGGG!
"Children, good morning. Please get out your writer's notebook. We will be doing a writing prompt on Mexico. Can anyone give a quick example of what Mexico looks like?"
Tyler raises his hand. Mrs. Ruby calls on him. Oh my word! He held up a wave emoji and a Palm tree emoji, along with a TACO emoji.
"Uhh... Tyler is this some kind of protest because of the rule made yesterday?"
Tyler holds up a green checkmark and a hand giving a thumbs up.
"Alright. That was a great example of Mexico. Jessica, please go close the door. I panic and hold us the emoji that says 'OK'. Then I grab the icy door handle to close the door.
"Jessica! You're on this too?"
I put up a thumbs up and to arrows. One pointing to Kaylee. One to Jason.
"Oh... the cell phone crew. Anyways. We only have about ten minutes left. So don't do your Mexico Essay until tomorrow.
Eleven minutes later...
RIIIINNNNNGGGG!Oh my gosh! 6 people already joined in. It's been like 25 minutes! Now, math. Good thing there is number Emojis.
As we walk in Mr. Kramer, our math teacher, calls us up to the front of the room. "Kaylee, Jason, Tyler, and Jessica. Please come to the front." We all walk slowly. "Guys, I love your protest already. I'm going to let you have your phones back in math. That's it."
We've decided we could talk in math now!
"Thanks Mr. K!" We all says excitedly. One out of seven periods, we have phones. All this in literally 31 minutes!
