“Harry where have you been?” Jade questioned. She narrowed her eyes at Harry
“I went to the club to-”Harry explained, but he was cut off by Jade.
“WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GO OUT TONIGHT AND YOU WENT TO THE CLUB? I BET YOU CHEATED ON ME TOO!” Jade yelled at him. Harry was too tired to deal with her false accusations. This is all that happened lately, all they did was fight now. Harry remembered the first few months of when they had been together, they were perfect for each other, or so he thought. Ever since he got back from tour Jade has just gotten really clingy. She always wanted Harry’s full attention, and Harry just couldn’t deal with it anymore.
“SEE I KNEW IT. YOU CHEATED ON ME, I KNEW IT. WELL THAT’S FINE HARRY, BECAUSE I CHEATED ON YOU TOO.” Jade screamed. She pulled out her phone and showed Harry a picture of her kissing another guy. Harry was heartbroken. Even if she was clingy sometimes she was Harry’s first actual love.
“We’re over Jade, and I didn’t cheat.” Harry whispered. He left before Jade could see him cry. Harry didn’t know where he was going so he was just walking around. He saw a car coming so he stepped off to the side. The car stopped near him. Harry was panicking a little thinking it was some robber.
Spike slowed down the car because she saw a familiar person walking alone on the side of the road. She was just going home from Liz’s apartment. She stopped the car.
“Hey aren’t you the guy who helped me get to Liz’s house from the club? Liz asked.
“Yeah that’s me I’m Harry.” Harry said he was still sniffling a little.
“Do you need a ride somewhere, or do you always randomly walk around big cities at 3 in the morning?” Spike said.
“I just broke up with my girlfriend, and um that was where I was supposed to be staying for the next 3 weeks.” Harry mumbled. Spike noticed he was crying a little. She felt terrible for sounding so rude to him.
“Hey, get in the car. You can stay at mine.” Spike said. Harry thought it over, and got in the car.
“Thanks, I owe you one.” Harry said. He was trying to hold in the tears.
“Rough breakup?” Spike asked. Harry just nodded and another tear fell from his eyes. He didn’t understand why he was getting so emotional. Jade obviously didn’t care for him. Spike noticed the tear that fell from Harry’s eyes and wiped it off. Harry just looked down, and sighed.
“It’ll be alright.” Spike said. She felt like the, old, more caring, Spike. She felt like Sophie again. They arrived at Spike’s apartment. They both got out and walked towards the apartment.
“Do you want to watch a sappy movie and have some Ice cream? I don’t really know if that’s what guys like or not.” Spike said. Harry chuckled a little. His heart warmed at the fact that Spike actually cared.
“sure, that sounds nice.” Harry said.
“Well, you can get comfortable, and I’ll go get my stash of sappy movies that nobody should know I own, and the ice cream.” Spike said. The corners of Harry’s mouth twitched upwards. He couldn’t understand the effect this girl had on him. She made him smile when all he wanted to do was cry.
As she walked back downstairs with the carton of old sappy movies, and a tub of her favorite oreo ice cream. She looked over at Harry he was adorably cuddled into the side of the couch. Wait what? Did Spike Hall just think someone was adorable? She sat down next to him and put the box of movies on the table and the carton of ice cream between them.
“So which movie do you want to see?” Spike asked. Harry looked through the box and settled on The Last Song. Spike was happy with the choice because it wasn’t all that sappy, and it had Liam Hemsworth in it. Mmmmm Liam Hemsworth.
“Good choice.” Spike said. She walked over to put the DVD in the player, and plopped back down on the couch. As the movie started to play, Spike started to feel more and more like her old self. This scared her, because there was a reason Sophie was now Spike. The last thing she wanted was innocent little Sophie back. She looked over to Harry who was sniffling a little. She felt terrible for him, because she knew what he was going through.
15 year old Sophie sat on her couch waiting for Brian to come pick her up. They were to go on a date today. She felt so happy to be with Brian, because he was one of the hottest guys in school. She’d had a crush on him since the third grade. She looked out her window to see a couple making out against an oddly familiar car. She looked at the car to see it was Brian’s, and the couple that was up against it was Brian and her, best friend, April. Tears filled Sophie’s eyes. She went down and asked Brian why he’d done it, hoping it was a misunderstanding. Maybe April had forced herself onto him, like in those cliché love stories. Sadly, Brian admitted to it. He said that she was to soft, and didn’t ‘put out enough’. The only reason he had ever dated her was because he needed a job at her uncle’s office. She full on sobbed and slapped Brian. That was the moment Sophie became Spike. That was also the moment Sophie swore that she would never fall for a guy again.
“Are you okay?” Harry asked, wiping some tears off of Spike’s face. She hadn’t even noticed she was crying. Harry pulled her into his arms and hugged her. She felt strange sense of protection. It was sort of like when her mom used to hug her, but a little different. She felt her eyes start to droop. Harry started to hum some song. He didn’t understand what had happened to Spike all of a sudden, but he did know she needed comforting. He stroked her long hair while trying to get her to go to sleep. He felt happier now, and had totally forgotten about his breakup. He looked down to see Spike asleep, her head rested on his shoulder and her arms were around Harry’s neck. She was holding on as if her life depended on it. Harry decided to get some sleep too. He wrapped his arms around her waist and fell into a deep sleep. They slept peacefully. Little did they know they were being watched.
