t - 5 minutes

~saying goodbye~

                                            you let go of leon and wipe your face. your voice cracks as you begin to thank him. "thank you leon" he looks at you apathetically and gives you a soft smile. "of course, i can't even begin to imagine what emotions you're feeling right now."  you look over at marvin and then back at leon. "i think i need to take a breather for a sec, i'll be back in five." leon reaches for your arm which makes you stop in your tracks. "i dont think its a good idea for any of us to split off right now. we still don't have a plan on how were getting out of here." he says with a concerned look in his eyes. you begin to protest but marvin speaks up. "actually leon, i think i found a way." both you and leon walk closer to marvin to see what he's found. "there seems to be an passageway that leads to the parking lot, if you guys can find a way in then that's your ticket outta here." the fact that marvin isn't coming with you stings a little harder hearing him explain the plan he made for you and leon. leon nods and speaks up "well then i guess we better get looking." he looks over at you gesturing for you to follow him. marvin then hands you the notebook with a map laid out. "hopefully you can find the way out."

                                            marvin relaxes the best he can into the hospital bed, his breathing sporadic and shallow. you look at leon and then at the map. you both read it and realize you have to look for statues that have puzzle systems as locks before being able to get the medallion you need to open the door.  leon speaks up. "it looks like there are three statues, a lion, a unicorn,and a maiden. do you know where any of them are located y/n?"  you look at leon and point up. "the lion is right there. the unicorn is in the lounge over there. and the maiden is on the third floor in the west storage room. now do you want to split up or do them together ?" leon almost immediately speaks up "i would prefer we stay together, you know this place better than i do." you kinda chuckle. "yeah that's true, rookie" leon also laughs a little appreciating you lightening the mood even if it is just a little bit. leon walks up the stairs holding your hand to the lion statue. you follow him but don't take your hand away, its strangely comforting after being alone in this house of horrors for so long.

leon stops at the base of the statue and immediately begins putting the code in. a section of the statue opens and leon grabs the lions medallion. you both slowly make your way through the station grabbing the medallions, laying out any zombies that come your way. you start walking towards the door to go back to the main hall till suddenly this thing falls from the ceiling. it starts trying to attack you but you're too stunned to even react. "what the actual hell is that thing ?!" you scream pulling out your shotgun aiming at it, leon runs up to you and pushing you behind him while he throws a grenade at whatever that vile creature is. you both brace for the explosion and listen to that things final scream. "whatever it was it's dead now." leon says turning back to you. "are you okay, did it hurt you ?" he asks looking around at your body checking for any new wounds. "no i don't think so. unless you want to count a heart attack." he laughs a little before responding " i sure hope we don't run into more of those, i think zombies are enough." you nod agreeing with him. "lets go to the statue before we find out." you say making your way to the door, shotgun at the ready just in case. leon follows you keeping your pace.

you both finally make it to the statue and put the medallions in watching the base be pulled back into the walls revealing a passageway underground. you turn to marvin. "marvin ! you were right ! come on we can get out of here !" marvin rolls over sitting up. "no, y/n leave with leon. it's too late for me." you begin to protest and marvin notices. he finally snaps. "y/n i said go ! fucking leave ! what don't you get ? i'm not making it out of this but you two can ! now leave !" leon walks up to you and grabs your arm. "y/n we have to go, he's right. we can't help him." you start to feel tears welling in you eyes again, instead of letting marvin see you cry again you choke them down. "marvin i promise you i will find whoever did this and hold them accountable, even if it kills me." before marvin can say anything else you walk towards the door and enter, leon close behind you. "y/n, are you oka-" before he can finish you lean in and kiss him softly. "thank you leon." leon stands there stunned for a bit before responding with another soft kiss, which you didn't expect. "y/n, we're gonna make it out of this i promise." you nod, trying to hide your shock. looking around the room for anything that could be of use before heading into the doorway leading out.
