Take a nap

Esmeralda and her parents begin packing their bags for their vacation. Once they are all done they get into the car ready to hit the road. They stop at a house and Esmeralda looks at her parents confused.
"What are we doing?"
"We are dropping Tim off at Aunt Gail's. He's got a appointment tomorrow and he can't have any candy or sugar." They unbuckle Tim and get his bag and Esmeralda gives him a hug before the 3 of them head inside.
Esmeralda begins to feel as though she is being watched and she looks around.
"Boo" her uncle Ryan says scaring her and she jumps. She gives him a hug
"Hi uncle Ryan, " she says smiling "it's almost my birthday"
"Yes it is I have a gift for you but you have to wait until you get back he says smiling.
Esmeralda's parents come outside and Ryan gets up and hugs Esmeralda's dad. "Hey, Rick it's been a while how have you been?"
Rick hugs him "I've been good. Sorry it's been a while I've been busy with work. " Esmeralda's dad stops smiling "how have you guys been" he asked Ryan
Ryan looks at the ground, "it has been hard but we will get through it" he gives a small smile. Rick pats him on the back and hugs him again.
I can't imagine how hard it is to lose your son. Especially not knowing what would cause it."
Ryan shakes his head somberly "you guys should get going traffic remember," he says forcing a smile. He walks to the passenger side and gives Esmeralda's mom a hug. "it was good seeing you, Roma." He waves to they as they drive away.

"Are we almost there?" Esmeralda ask.
"Not yet, try takin a nap, honey we will let you know when we get there. Esmeralda lays down in the back seat with her seatbelt on and her mom gives her a pillow. She covers up and goes to sleep. A little while later Esmeralda is started awake by a bang followed by excruciating pain and Esmeralda can't move but she feels something on her. She calls out for her mom and dad to no avail. Esmeralda hears sirens in the distance and she blacks out. Esmeralda finally comes too and she is a hospital room and she looks around scared. A nurse walks in to check on Esmeralda "hello hun my name is Tara. Can you tell me your name?" Esmeralda tries to think of what her name could be but she doesn't know. She asked her head no. She nurse looks at her sympathetically, "does anything hurt?" She asks Esmeralda. Esmeralda points to her head and tries to speak but nothing comes out. Tara pours Esmeralda a glass of water from a pitcher and gives it to her.
" This should help. Ill ask the doctor about pain medicine," she smiles walking out of the room.
She looks around the room some more and sees a small white teddy bear with a heart that says I love you on it. Tara walks in and gives Esmeralda some medicine and sees her eyeing the bear. " Would you like me to give it to you?" The nurse asked Esmeralda.
She nods and the nurse gets it and gives it to her. "Do you need anything else," she ask. Esmeralda shakes her head no. "alright the doctor will be in shortly to check on you if you need me, push the red button." Tara  leaves the room and Esmeralda traces the heart trying to remember anything at all, but, she cannot remember anything.
She squeezes the bear for some comfort. "We love you, butterfly. Happy birthday! Mom and dad love you honey. Don't ever forget that Esmeralda " The bear goes quiet and Esmeralda looks at the bear taken aback and presses the heart again to hear the message repeatedly.
She presses the red button to call the nurse into the room. The nurse comes in. Yes ma'am is everything alright?" She ask. Esmeralda nods and points to the bear. "Oh the bear It was received from the car it was next to you in a box so it wasn't damaged. " She says smiling a little. Esmeralda pushes the button on the teddy bear and the message plays and the nurses face goes white.
Half way through the message. "Mom? Dad? " Is all Esmeralda can say. The nurse starts tearing up. "I'm sorry hun,"  individuals with their faces blurred holding Esmeralda's hands flashes in Esmeralda's mind and she begins to cry.  Tara hugs her to console her and Esmeralda hugs the nurse as best as she can due to the pain. Tara leaves and says she will check on Esmeralda again soon.
