Eyes opened, revealing blazing irises with jet black pupils. The young man rolled onto his back and rubbed his eyes. "Well, dammit." he let out a puff of air and then spoke, in a voice softer and more tender than he had been. Deciding not to dwell on this first strike, he accepted that he had failed at his attempt to gain Lelouch's trust. He looked up at the ceiling, gazing at the yellow paint that covered it. He was pondering, replaying what had just happened like a slow-motion film, trying to figure out how he had erred with a plan that had seemed so perfect in his head.

"I set those darts up perfectly." Saphire put his hands behind his head and spoke to himself in a slightly more annoyed tone. "I guess I misread how he would react," he pouted his pink lips as he played with some air in his cheeks causing the right side to balloon slightly, "Oh well," his voice returned to its original confident demeanor as he effortlessly used a rising handspring to bring himself to his feet. The young male started smoothing his hair and straightening his ponytail before grabbing his glasses off the floor and placing them back on his button nose. He looked down at his stomach as he tried to remove the wrinkles from his uniform jacket and noticed something.

"My pants!" he furrowed his brow, looking at the three blue darts embedded in his left calve. The material of his uniform was torn. "I haven't even worn these a day yet!" he whined. "Ugh," he groaned, removing the darts and placing them on the table without even an attempt to check if he was bleeding. He looked over at the leftover food and the chair that was on the floor from where Saphire had tackled him. He envisioned the happy look upon his face when Saphire had fed him.

"Lelouch..." he shook his head and started packing things up, his mind wandering to the deep amethysts that were set into Lelouch's statuesque face. He had looked terrified at the time and believed it was Saphire's fault. "Rightfully so, it was my fault." he admitted with a chortle. He shrugged his shoulders and decided, "Guess I just need to try again." He picked up his bag with his right hand and threw it over his shoulder as he made his way out of the Club House, leaving not a trace of them having been there.

Lelouch was out of breath as he raced across campus, wanting to get as far away from this new student as possible. He stopped and bent over, huffing and puffing in pain. "I wasn't made for running, why am I like this?" he cried in irritation. His head was spinning from physical exhaustion. His thoughts racing from the events of the last few hours. He was recapitulating the last the morning inside his mind. The moment had locked eyes with the caramel skinned boy from Europia to the times their hands touched to the very minute Lelouch realized his new ally had already betrayed him.

"ARGH!" He leaned back against the brick wall of the building, pounding the back of balled fists into it, "So foolish," he groaned. Catching his breath, he made his way to the gazebo to try and hide in a shady place away from the noise, the people and most of all from the exchange student.

He lay down on the stone bench and closed his eyes. "That's better." He sighed, a feeling of relief washing over him. Lelouch was exhausted and just wanted to spend the rest of his day laying down. He closed his eyes and could only see the gleam of fire of Saphire's eyes burning into him. "What the hell?" he sat up in a sweat. He put his head in his hands, "What was he trying to accomplish?" the question lingered on his lips but stayed locked in his mind. "Why would he do something like this after trying to save me from the girls earlier?" Lelouch was struggling with his thoughts as he ran his hands through his sweat soaked hair.

"I can't make any sense of this!" He yelled, his face tilting towards the ceiling of the gazebo. His hands were gripping the bench so tight that his knuckles were white. He replayed the moment before he fell to the floor. He saw the look in Saphire's eyes as he pushed Lelouch off his chair. Saphire had looked happy as his body collided with his. "Was he happy because he thought he had me? Was there something I was missing?"
