Several days had passed, since their initial meeting. Lelouch and Saphire had somehow created a routine of meeting at the gates first thing in the morning and heading to class. Their relationship had remained rather steady as the two spent every day together. The same routine of classes until Lunch, hiding in the Student Council building until the afternoon classes and then parting ways after school. This afternoon they had a council meeting, so they stayed late. In between the time their classes ended, and the meeting began, Saphire and Lelouch decided to return to the Gazebo to talk in private.
“The weather in Japan has held up nicely,” Saphire noted.
“Yeah, things have been good since you got here.” Lelouch replied as they sat down. “How are you adjusting to life here?”
“It’s different I’ll give you that.” Saphire handed him some snacks he had in his bag. “I don’t sleep much though. I guess the time zone change has been very tough on me.”
“It will even out,” They started to eat in silence, “Do you miss your family? Back in Paris?”
Saphire smirked at his comment, “You would think I would? Wouldn’t you.” He scoffed. “I miss home yes, but my father is never there anyway. It's one of the reasons I wanted to come here. The place they call Area 11 … is of great interest for my father’s company. I hope I can be of more use to him than I have been.”
“Does he make you feel like you’re not enough?” Lelouch asked between bites.
“Actually,” he laughed, “Not at all. Not in the slightest. My father makes me feel like the perfect child. He’s never once made me feel inadequate. He always encourages me and tells me I’m doing the best,” he sighed, “Though sometimes he tells me I work too hard and I should relax a bit more.”
“Since you got here you’ve been nothing but going... Between school and you being at the library, what do you do for fun?”
“Sleep,” Saphire spoke plainly, “I’m pretty boring.”
“Boring? You have girls and boys chasing you. I have seen at least fifty people approach you today alone.”
“And I reject every single one of them! I don’t have the time to date! I’m here to study!”
“There is more to life than studying,” Lelouch replied, “You don’t have to date anyone but you should do stuff outside of class and student council.”
“If I don’t keep my grades up then I can’t stay here.” Saphire explained. “I only just got here... I have lots I wish to do.”
“Like what?”
“Just.... general exploration of Japan. Learning about its lost cultures...Trying to learn what I can to help with keeping Brittania out of Europia.” he tilted his head confused why Lelouch was worried about his social life
“So are you anti-Britannian?”
“Not exactly... I mean I am from Europia... My ideals of peace differ. I understand the governing bodies but … oppression isn’t the answer. Rule with kindness, gentleness, understanding.” Saphire suddenly softened at this thought. Lelouch was in awe at how powerful the foreigner looked.
“You have the makings of a King,” he said suddenly and Saphire begun laughing.
“I’ll be CEO of a major corporation, that will be as close to King as I will get.” Saphire Chortled
“How about after the meeting I take you someplace. You can learn to do some of the things that teenagers do?” He offered, again somewhat unsure why he even did so.
Saphire’s face turned bright red, “Are you sure it’s a good idea us being together off campus? Won’t people question it?”
“Two young men doing young men things? I doubt it.” He spoke in a deep manly voice which made them both laugh.
“We should probably head to the council room now.” Saphire noted, looking over at the building in the distance.
Lelouch nodded and they packed up and made their way inside. As they entered the office The president, Milly, was waiting along with Rivalz, Nina, Kallen and Shirley.
“Look who finally decided to show up.” Milly said with a smirk.
“We aren’t late.” Saphire retorted. “We’re actually right on time.”
“Yes, but we had,” she paused, “Plans for you …" Lelouch’s heart clenched at Milly’s words, knowing that the student council had always tried to do things he didn’t want to do. “Don’t look so shocked Lelouch. Saphire is the most eligible bachelor at this school now.”
“My friend you have been replaced.” Rivalz put his arm around Lelouch and he leaned over in confusion.
“Wh-wha-WHAT?” Saphire cried out, his face turning bright red in embarrassment, “What do you mean plans for me? No one told me anything.”
“It wouldn’t be much of a surprize if you knew about it, would you?” Nina replied, “You’ve been here a few days but we really wanted to welcome you with something special.”
Lelouch watched as the four girls approached Saphire and pulled him to the center of the room. The boy was helpless, trapped as each stood around him, flanking him. There was no strategy that could save the foreign boy. He couldn’t even turn his head to ask for aid. Milly had her hand on his face, caressing his chin softly. “Don’t worry, we’ll be so gentle.”
“Help?” Saphire managed to squeak.
“You’re on your own there, buddy,” Rivalz replied with a chuckle.
“Don’t be so dramatic,” Milly replied. “We made you each a gift. A welcome gift for you for being such an eccentric addition to the school.”
Saphire looked at each of the four women surrounding him. They all kissed his face at the same time and he heated up. His skin was crimson red with heat. The feel of each of their lips on his face making him so flustered and by proxy making Rivalz and Lelouch feel the second-hand embarrassment within themselves.
“Could you please not do that!” Saphire screamed, “My body is not a toy for you to play with!”
The girls pulled away with glee at having taken what they wanted from the teenaged boy. “You’re so easy to play with. Come girls.” Milly and the others stood with packages all nicely wrapped up. “We made you pieces of an outfit. You seem to be so stuck in wearing a uniform all the time, we wanted to see you model an attractive casual outfit.
“Model?” Saphire questioned.
“Yes!” Shirley smiled holding a box wrapped in yellow paper with an orange bow, “Here... this is from me. They are slacks I made him Home Economics. We all managed to get your measurements and tailored everything to fit you.” Saphire took the package with a bit of a dead look on his face.
“This is a really high-quality dress shirt made of silk.” Milly approached and put her package on top of the first, this one Blue with a dark blue ribbon, “Your favorite colour is blue right?” she winked.
“I made you a really nice Jacket!” Nina added her package to the pile, wrapped in baby blue with a pink ribbon.
“And...” Kallen was last. She handed him the white box with red ribbon, her face red and her teal eyed turned away, “I made you a tie. Sorry I’m not as good at this as the others!”
Lelouch kept his place beside Rivalz, as the girls fawned over Saphire. He watched the scene unfold as Saphire’s face continued to turn red with each gift he received. “They went through all that for him?”
“I guess because he’s new they wanted to make him feel welcome.” Rivalz replied they witnessed Saphire being nudged out of the office to change.
“But to tailor a whole outfit.” Lelouch shook his head in confusion.
“Truth be told, even I question my love for the president when I look at Saphire. There is something about him.” He sighed tilting his head, “Something that makes you want to give him all the world has to offer.”
“Hm,” Lelouch frowned. The girls were pushing Saphire towards the bathroom and not giving him time to think or breathe. He sat down at the conference table and leaned his head on his hand. “Girls are so strange. I’ll never understand them.”
“Ahhh Lelouch,” Rivalz pat him on the back, “The heart of women is so fickle. Saphire is much prettier than you are plus he has an empire that he will inherit soon. I’m sure any woman wants to marry into that kind of money.”
“Marriage is serious business. People aren’t pawns to do as you will with.” Lelouch replied.
“Trust, but for Saphire Bouclier,” He paused looking out the window, “It looks like it's going to be a tough time for him if this is what he has to deal with on the daily...”
In the bathroom, Saphire had unpackaged the entire outfit with care. He looked the white slacks with straight pant legs, baby blue shirt button up shirt with long sleeves, navy embroidery and sapphire cufflinks, blue blazer, informal enough to be casual, formal enough to make him look like a prince.
“This is casual?” he asked himself as he removed his glasses and proceeded to unbutton his uniform blazer. He could hear the giggles of the girls outside the washroom door. It made him uneasy, knowing they were there listening to him as he was undressing. He folded his jacket and placed it to the side before unbuttoning his uniform shirt and adding it to the stack. He sipped his hands into the sleeves the intricate button up first before he removed his uniform slacks and replaced them with the soft linen-cotton blend that was stitched together with care. “This shirt is so comfortable,” he noted, as he slipped the buttons into their holes. He realized that silk shirts were definetly better than cotton blends. He tied the tie and added the jacket before wearing his black uniform shoes. He replaced his glasses on his face and gathered his things before exiting the bathroom.
As he did, he was swamped by the females of the student council. They saw him in the clothing they had made for him and they were all bright pink with excitement. “OH WOW!!!” they screamed un unison. The scream was loud enough that Lelouch and Rivalz peeked out of the office to see what was happening.
“Sweet Jesus,” Rivalz gulped his words. “He looks awesome. Like a prince.”
Once again an onlooker at Saphire’s existence, Lelouch watched while Milly pulled Saphire’s elastic from his hair and his straight strands fell onto his shoulders. Saphire’s face was bright red and his eyes shrunk back showing his inability to cope with the situation in front of him. Even so, he was quite the attractive male, Lelouch had no doubt.
“You look so nice with your hair down!” They proceeded to pull him back into the office. Lelouch and Rivalz ran back to their spots as they sat Saphire down and proceed to tie tied half of his hair into a braid leaving the other half cascading down his back.
“Loosen the tie! Make him look serious but not too serious,” Shirley added. When they were done Saphire looked like a boy ready for a date.
“He’s perfect,” Nina gasped in delight.
“Thank you, ladies,” Saphire bowed his head in gratitude. “This outfit is very nice and comfortable.”
“Saphire you were already such a handsome boy like this you’re even more so the eligible bachelor.” Milly replied.
“You look so nice! You should take us on a date!” Saphire ‘s skin became pale at the mention of it, each one of the girls screaming and giggling at the idea of going out with the heir.
“D...da..da...date?!” he screamed, “No no no , I’m not dating. Thank you so much for the gifts but um. I think... I need to go.”
Saphire stood up and he felt the hands of the four women on him pushing him back down.
“You aren’t going anywhere without taking at least one us in this room on a date.” Kallen’s eyes were dark and angry as she spoke.
“Uh....” Saphire was at a loss for words as he felt the weight of the young women’s palms on his body. “Alright.... I pick....” His voice trembled as he tried to ponder his next steps. A gleam of light hit his eye and made a hasty decision, jumping up, causing the four to fall to the ground in a loud cry. The thud of their bottoms hitting the ground matched the gasp that escaped Lelouch as Saphire pulled him from his seat into his arms, carrying him like a bride out of the meeting room.
Lelouch was completely taken aback when he was grabbed and then carried like a girl by his new companion. “Saphire? What the ….” they were moving so fast he couldn’t speak, or he would get dust in his mouth. Everything was a blur as the student dressed in white ran as fast as he could to leave the campus.
They arrived at the waiting black limousine. The door was open and Saphire cradled Lelouch to himself before jumping inside and screaming, “DRIVE!” Lelouch was sitting on the plush leather seat eyes wide, face red as a beat mortified at the position he was in. Saphire was on all fours over top him, gasping like he had lost all his strength. His hair was all he could see, the beautiful long locks cascading like a wave of black water down the side of his face to land on Lelouch’s Lap. He could see his entire body heaving in exhaustion. Nervous at this awkward position, he placed a hand at the top of his head and patted Saphire gently stroking his hair to try and calm him.
Saphire’s adrenaline had left him. He was trying to catch his breath, trying to keep his head from spinning, trying to be sure he got away. He felt, the warmth of Lelouch’s hand on his head and he looked down at the rather embarrassing position he was in. He sat up and immediately felt the dizziness causing him to fall sideways into Lelouch’s Chest. Lelouch let out a grunt but didn’t want to make Saphire feel more nervous than he obviously did.
“Are you okay?” he asked the long-haired boy and realized Saphire was in a fight or flight moment. He pulled him to his chest and continued to pet his hair, “Relax and breathe slowly, the dizziness will pass.”
Saphire’s cheeks reddened and he could feel the calm beat of Lelouch’s Heart. It comforted him so much for some reason. He could feel his eyes closing and the gentle huff of Lelouch’s breath. He passed out before he could answer.
