Sire's Scepter

Alleyway

It was midnight and a couple was foolishly taking a shortcut back home through an alleyway. They just left a bar so they aren't really of sound mind.

Everything is dark and quiet... too quiet.
Until something ran so fast behind them that it was just a dark blur and made a sound that made the girl jump.

"What's wrong?" The guy asks.
"I-I heard something."
The guy looks around but he can barely see anything because the only light they have is the streetlight that might as well be miles away.
He takes out his phone and turns on his flashlight.

The trashcan near them begins to rattle.
He starts to slowly walk towards it, his girlfriend peaking over his shoulder while hiding behind his back.

As they get closer, something pops out of the trashcan.
"AHHHHHHHH!"
"It's just a rat. A big one. But just a rat."
She looks over and sees a rat now beside the trashcan staring up at them.
"Oh." She lets out an awkward laugh.
"Maybe you had a little too much to drink. Let's hurry and get home."
The girl nodds as the guy puts his arm over her shoulder.

As they turn around they see a man standing by the wall.
They didn't think he was there before but, then again, it is really dark.
The guy starts to turn them around but she pulls away from him.
"What are you doi-" He puts his hand over her mouth.
"Lets go the other way." He says in a soft, low voice.
"We already came this far!" She says quietly as she escapes his grip.
"We'll just walk past him quickly."

She starts to walk past the mysterious man but he runs towards her and is there within a second. He presses her against the wall. She looks into his ruby red eyes.

"HEY!" Her boyfriend runs towards them trying to save her but the mysterious man grabs him by the neck - while still pressing the girl against the wall - and chokes him until he's dead.

"NO!" The girl screams as she starts to cry.
"Why are you doing this?" She asks through her tears.
The man smiles, revealing his teeth. His pointed teeth.
She looks down and starts to sob but he grabs her chin and forces her to look at him. Study him.

He has dark purple hair with strands of a lighter purple. If she hadn't met him in this alleyway, she would have never guessed that he's a blood-sucking monster.

"W-what are you going to do to me?"
He doesn't say anything in return. He just continues to look at her like she's a snack.
Well-
I guess she is.

He gets closer and closer to her neck. She forces her eyes shut but she can feel them pooling with tears. When he gets to her neck, she expects to feel him bite her but instead she heard a deep scream.

She opened her eyes and saw a bright light that almost blinded her. When she looked around again, the vampire was gone.
