              ——————————

Amity woke up with gasp, sweat dripping down her face. It was the dream again. Luz was leaving her and called her a bully, her parents locking her in the small storage closet (she has claustrophobia in this fic), and it ended with her being stabbed with vines and thorns from Willow.

Amity held in her fears and got out of bed. She trembled, walking over to her closet to get her uniform out. However, when she opened her closet, she was greeted with her least favorite uniform. The one with itchy fabric and seams. She sighed, knowing very well that today was going to be hard. She put on the uncomfortable magenta tunic anyway. After grabbing her bag, she practically fell down the stairs. Her legs trembled weakly, and she felt weird. Her stomach grumbled, reminding her that she hadn't eaten since lunch yesterday, and even so, it was only a granola bar. She didn't feel like she deserved to eat yet. If she ate, all of her progress over the years  would be ruined. But her stomach protested because a huge pain erupted from her tummy. She gripped it, hoping for the pain to end. She made her way to the kitchen to grab an apple. Luckily, her parents were still asleep since it was 6:00. Amity liked to go to school early. The art teacher would let her hang out in their room and let her draw until homeroom started.

She put on her boots and tied the laces. She heard a small "mreow" come from behind her. She turned around, being greeted by her hand-me-down palisman, Ghost. Since she hadn't gotten a flying license yet, she couldn't take Ghost.

"Hey Ghost, did Batric steal your food again?" She asked in a cute voice.

Ghost shook her head, rubbing her face on Amity's legs.

"Aw, you just wanted to say goodbye?" She picked Ghost up, holding her like a baby.

"Alright, I gotta go to school, I'll see in 8 hours, love you," she set Ghost down, walking out the door.

                       ——–—–

Amity arrived a little late. She got sidetracked. She ended up being only a little early to school, but that was still okay. When Amity arrived at Hexside, she went straight to her locker, not wanting to socialize with anyone today. She got to her locker and started putting things away. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She flinched, stiffening and shrinking in on herself. She turned around, lowered her head, and backed up into the locker.

"Woah, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." it was just luz.

Amity looked up, her eyes meeting Luz's.

"Oh my titan, when did you get that?!" Luz pointed to Amity's forehead.

"Oh, this? I just walked into a pole on accident this morning, I'm fine, haha, " she chuckled nervously.

Luz didn't really believe this lie. She knew people's emotions very well.

"Ok... but if you do want to talk about anything, I'm here for you,"

"What makes you think I need to talk? I'm fine, really. " she said a little more sternly.

The bell screamed before luz could get another word in.

"Well, I gotta get to homeroom, I'll see you later, Luz!" Amity quickly shut her locker with a slam, and sped walked to her class.

Luz sighed. She knew Amity wasn't okay. She could tell just by body language. But Luz was a stubborn son of witch and would find out what was wrong with Amity no matter what.

                ————————

The lunch bell screamed, and kids poured into the lunchroom, excited to find out what was on today's menu. Amity, however, was not excited at all. Whenever she so much as smelled food during lunchtime, she became nauseous. She sat down at a free lunch table. She took out her sketchbook and started doodling. But before long, her scabs from last night were starting to really bother her. She began itching and picking at them, but they wouldn't stop being itchy.

Luz saw Amity sitting by herself, no food in sight. She frowned, chewing on her PB&J.

"Hey, I'm gonna be right back," Luz told her friends, grabbing some chips and making her way to Amity's table.

She saw Amity itching her arm like crazy. Her concern grew further. She sat down next to the girl. The green haired witch immediately stopped itching when she noticed Luz sit down.

"H-hey, Luz, what are you doing here, at this table, with me." She said nervously.

"Well, I noticed you weren't eating anything, and I got worried. I'm always here for you. Anyways, I brought you these." Luz set down the chips in front of Amity.

Amity grimaced, wondering what she should do.

"Oh, um, thanks, but I'm not really hungry, I ate a big breakfast," she lied.

"Uh, ok... are your arms OK? I noticed you itching at them..." Luz pointed out.

Amitys heart stopped. Her anxiety grew. No one was supposed to find out. Her mom would kill her. If the youngest blight was found out to be self-harming, her mother would send her to the conformatorium. She put her arms down in her lap quickly.

"I'm f-fine, really. You don't need to worry about me, " she assured.

Luz was about to say something when she looked down at Amity's arm and saw a red liquid, soaking up the sleeve.

"Amity! You're bleeding!" She pointed at her arm.

Amity looked down, dread filling her body. Her breathing picked up. Luz went to reach for her arm but Amoty jerked it away. Her anxiety was spiking. Everything seemed to be building up and was collapsing right then and there.

"Amity..." Luz looked at her friend, concern in her eyes.

Amity jumped out of her seat, leaving her bag and sketchbook. She ran out of the lunchroom, her hand clutching her bloody arm so tight, more blood started coming out. She ran into the bathroom, spotting the largest open stall, and slammed the door shut. She hugged her knees to her chest and started scratching her face, trying to gain control.

'Not now, why a panic attack now!' She thought to herself.

She was hyperventilating now. Luz is going to find out, she's gonna tell her parents, and Amity will be stuck in a cold cell, away from everyone. That's probably what she deserves anyway. To be alone for all of eternity. No one to call a friend. Her heart was beating so fast that it was about to jump out of her body. Tears started to come down her face. At least no one would catch her like this.

Until they do.

"Amity?"
