Chapter 1. Overqualified

Amara Haithakorn is blessed with a life that is as brilliant, pristine, and beautiful as the sun in the sky. She adheres strictly to reason and structure in her daily life, and she meticulously plans everything she does before actually carrying it out. Since she was a child, she had the ambition to have a career in academia, and she made plans to pursue this goal when she was older. She has been working toward her goal of becoming an educator ever since she was in junior high school, and the idea of her having a career in education has always been one of her goals. She had already obtained her doctoral degree and was working as an assistant professor by the age of twenty-six. She skips some years into her bachelor's degree and goes straight into the program for teaching. She is currently the youngest Honorary Associate Professor at the age of thirty. In just two or maybe three years, she'll be able to get her professor title after fulfilling some of the requirements; carried out the required workload with actual working hours for not less than 1,380 per year and had not less than 180 working hours of teaching in the university's programs per academic year.

She teaches primarily for the Bachelor of Arts in Language and Culture (BALAC) Program at Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Arts, and she also teaches General Education for Arts students, Humanities, and Cultural Studies classes. Amara is one of the Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Arts' most well-liked lecturers. She doesn't mind taking more classes if it means getting her professor title sooner.

Some of her coworkers frequently questioned why she wanted to be a professor when she could have a more fulfilling career as an artist or entertainer instead. Because Amara is one of the top beauty in Chulalongkorn University, her body propotional is top notch, she's a majestic beauty, she has the grace and aura to be a top superstar, yet she's in Chulalongkorn University to be a Professor. Since she is also one of the prominent lecturers at Chulalongkorn University and in the BALAC Program, which is Chulalongkorn University's flagship global liberal arts program and Thailand's first cultural studies program, she is also in a contract with one of the most well-known beauty pageant organizations in Thailand, she usually has one or two days sessions as an instructor for the beauty pageant babies to learn about the social studies, giving them the preview of the outside world. The BALAC Program, since 2008, has been preparing students with 21st-century humanities skills, knowledge, and experiences to help them succeed in today's world.

Amara maintains an extremely hectic schedule from Monday through Saturday, and on Sundays, she does not tolerate any interruptions. On Sundays, she enjoys spending time alone with her dog and dislikes being disturbed by anyone, not even the headmaster of the university.

"Where is your girlfriend?" Sud, one of the administration staff and one of her bestest best friends, is at her house and has brought her some food. Amara's home is a small beautiful loft condo in the heart of Krungthep Mahanakon; she dislikes large houses because she mostly lives alone; her dog goes to dog day care from Monday to Saturday and only returns home when she's ready to sleep.

"Which one?"

"Oh my God, I can't believe you're thirty years old and still a womanizer!"

"I haven't dated anyone in three years! Which girlfriend are you referring to, Sud?" She gets annoyed but she realizes it is Sud's way of teasing her.

"Phea? That Cambodian girl?"

"Oh, that model? I'm not dating her."

"She told everyone you're her girlfriend."

"Let her be; I never considered her to be my girlfriend. We're close, and we've slept together once. But that's it." Amara explains as she places fresh food in her dog's bowl, a medium-haired chihuahua.
