VII - cloaked in darkness

Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Astrixare walking along a path with the three were talking with Hagrid, while Astrix was showing ofd her drawings to hermione, listening to music aswell.

"Nonsense! Why would Snape put a curse on Astrix's broom?" "Who knows? Why was he trying to get past that three-headed dog on Halloween?" Harry asked, Hagrid turns to them, suspiciously "Who told you 'bout Fluffy?" Hagrid asked "Fluffy? That thing has a name?" Ron asked "Well, of course he's got a name. He's mine. I bought him off an Irish feller I met down at the pub last year. Then I lent him to Dumbledore to guard the.." Hagrid stopped in his trance. "Yes?" Harry asked "Shouldn't have said that. No more questions! Don't ask any more questions. That's top secret, that is." Hagrid responded "But, Hagrid, whatever Fluffy's guarding, Snape's trying to steal it."

"Codswallop. Professor Snape is a Hogwarts teacher, and why would he try to kill his favorite student!" Hagrid said, this caused both you and hermiones attention off the drawing you were doing. "me? snapes favorite student?" Astrix asked, "well yes! dont know the reason though i dont know why... probably because you always get a perfect potion." Hagrid responded, "Hogwarts teacher or not, I know a spell when I see one. I've read all about them. You've got to keep eye contact and Snape wasn't blinking." Hermione said

"Ok bookworm." Astrix whispered, Hagrid sighed. "Now, you listen to me, all three of you. You're meddling in things that ought not to be meddled in. It's dangerous. What that dog is guarding is strictly between Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel." Harry, Curious and turns to Ron then back to Hagrid "Nicholas Flamel?" He asked. Hagrid Mumbles to himself "I shouldn't said that. I should not have said that." He then leaves, mumbling to himself "I should have not said that"

"Nicholas Flamel." Turns to Hermione "Who's Nicholas Flamel?" He asked "I don't know." Hermione responded "hey! Trix!" he grabbed the book out of Astrixs hand, "what?" she asked, "do you know anyone called Nicholas Flamel- oh, oh! these are some very good drawing skills for a 11 year old, have you shown uncle remus these?" Harry asked "no, i don't know anyone called Nicholas Flamel, and no i havent shown dad these." She took the book back.

It is now Christmas at Hogwarts, with snow falling. Hagrid is dragging a massive Christmas tree to the castle. Hermione walks to the Great Hall entrance with her luggage and wearing a scarf as the ghosts are singing Christmas songs.

Hermione looks from the massive Christmas tree as Flitwick uses his wand to put another ornament on the tree to Harry and Ron as they play Chess and walks towards them.
"Knight to E5." The Knight moves to its destination. Hermione walks up behind Harry. "Queen to E5." Ron said with a smug look. Hermione watches as Ron's queen goes over to Harry's knight and whacks the knight with her chair. "That's totally barbaric!" Hermione said "That's wizard's chess." he looks over to Hermione "I see you've packed." "See you haven't." Hermione responded "i see my 'sister' made some friends."

"hi Harry!" Astrix greeted "Hi Trix, er, who are these people?" Harry asked, "oh these are my friends, Theodore, Mattheo, And Enzo." "hello!" "hi!" "hey!" They all said at the same time. "see you've got a package of boyfriends already." Ron said. "what? oh nono, their just friends." Astrix said, "or are we?" Enzo said. "hey, we better be going, bye Astrix!" Mattheo said.

"oh and Ron, you can help Harry, then. He's going to go and look in the library for information on Nicholas Flamel." Hermione said "We've looked a hundred times." Ron replied, Astrix Leans over on the table "Not in the restricted section." She said, "Happy Christmas, Hermione." Astrix kisses her hand and Hermione leaves

"I think its a bit fruity in here, you think so too, Ron?" Harry asked

It is now Christmas morning. Ron is waking Harry up

"Harry wake up! Come on Harry, wake up!" Harry puts on his glasses and runs out of bed. He then looks down at Ron and Astrix "Happy Christmas, bro." "Happy Christmas, sis." Harry notices Ron's sweater "What are you wearing?" Harry asked. "Oh. My mum made it." he looked back up at Harry "It looks like you've got one too." "I-I've got presents?" Harry said "Yeah!" Harry runs down the staircase to see his presents. "There they are." Harry sees a note on the present and opens it, reading it out.

Your father left this in my possession before he died. It is time it was returned to you. Use it well.

Harry looks over to Ron, who shrugs his shoulders Harry then proceeds to open the remaining of his present. He pulls out a blanket-like object "What is it?" Astrix asked, Harry looked down at the object "It's some kind of cloak." "Well, let's see then, put it on." Ron suggested Harry then wraps the cloak around his shoulders, making his body invisible "My body's gone!" Harry said amazed "wait a minute.. did my dad send you an invisibility cloak?" Astrix said "I'm invisible?" Harry spins around, looking down at himself. "They're really rare." Ron looks down at the note "but how could Astrix's dad have one?" Ron asked "dunno, maybe cause he was a marauder." Astrix responded "mareudar? whats that?" Harry asked "yeah what is that?" Ron asked "oh basically a group of my dad and harrys dad and two other gryffindors."

harry was also looking down at the note " but no guarantee, there was no name. It just said use it well."

Late at night. A lantern and hand and a person appear, but nothing else. The ensemble walk through the dark library and into the Restricted Section. The lamp is put down, and the cloak removed, revealing to be Harry who searches the bookshelves.

"Famous fire eaters...15th Century Fiends...Flamel...Nicholas Flamel...where are you?" Harry picks up a book and opens it. A man's face appears from between the pages, which screams madly and loudly. Harry immediately slams the book shuts and puts it back.

"Who's there?!" Harry whips around, and quickly grabs his cloak, causing the lamp to fall and shatter. "I know you're in there. You can't hide." Harry puts on his cloak on him and astrix and creeps around Filch. "Who is it? Show yourself!" Harry runs from the room, breathing heavily. exits into the hall, where Mrs. Norris, who meows and begins to follow him. Harry runs around a corner, just as Snape and Quirrell appear. Snape pushes Quirrell into the wall.

"Severus...I-I thought..." "You don't want me as your enemy, Quirrell." "W-what do you m-mean?" Quirrell asked, "You know perfectly well what I mean." Snape senses something who causes thr two to stop breathing. Snape reaches out to grab something, but doesn't. He whips his finger back in front of Quirrell's face. "We'll have another chat soon...when you've had time to decide where your loyalties lie."
Filch arrives, carrying the broken lantern.

"Oh, Professors. I found this, in the Restricted Section. It's still hot. That means there's a student out of bed." Upon hearing this, Snape and Quirrell dart off
