As I woke up for my 5th week in school , I felt something next to me , it was Tuk snuggling in. She keeps having nightmares about monsters so every night she comes in and snuggles in .As much as she is annoying she also is adorable .
"Lo'ak, Lo'ak! It's time for school!"
"Ugh Tuk, what time is it?"
"Hurry dad is mad!"
"Ugh , get out so I can take my boxers off and get changed."
She walked out , as I got changed I thought about the girl , Tsireya , she's beautiful, she makes me so happy , I want her so bad .
My mom knocked on my door, "Hey , lo'ak , may I come in? It is important."
"Sure mom."
She sat next to me on my bed.
"Mom what's wrong?"
"Lo'ak, your brother is in hospital, he got shot while he was mugged "
"No....mom you're lying."
She teared up a bit , I felt a lump in my throat.
"He-He'll be fine right?..."
"I don't know ma lo'ak , but your father is with him , you have to get to school ok? Take the bus with kiri ok?'
After we got into school kiri and I sat on a bench together.
"Hey kiri, you OK? I asked her.
"LO'AK SHUT THE FUCK UP!"
She screamed.
I went quiet , she was breaking down, hiding tears , and frankly so was I. Then I saw tsireya , I walked up to her , saying nothing , I just hugged her , sobbing on her shoulder
"Hey, lo.. What's wrong?"
"Ne..Neteyam got shot, he's in hospital..im scared R..Reya."
"It'll be OK."
As we walked to form I noticed a girl push past tsireya , she knocked her to the floor
"WATCH IT!" I shouted
"Shut the fuck up and talk to ur dying brother bitch boy"
I was lost for words .
Then I notice tsireya get up and slap her face , I was in shock , then that girl got up and started to strangle her , they got into a huge fight , it got so bad that multiple teachers had to break It up .
I didn't know what to do , she got put in isolation for the rest of the day .
At the end of the day , I went to the hospital to see Neteyam,
"How is he?" I asked mom
"Lo'ak, he's dying" She was teary
"No..No don't say that mom please , please no MOM STOP HES NOT DYING DONT SAY THAT PLEASE!" I collapsed in her arms sobbing , she grabbed me tight .
"Lo'ak don't cry.."
Then, out of nowhere I heard beeping
"HES CRASHING , NEED A CRASH CART STAT!" I heard a nurse shout.
"NETEYAM NO!" My mom started screaming.
I couldn't breathe , I was shaking, lost for words, I started screaming , shouting I had to get grabbed by security
"SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!"
Then I heard it , the flatline. The high pitched drone of misery that symbolised the death of my brother , my loving brother . I felt like crap , I wanted to rewind time .
The next day I went to school and didn't speak all day until tsireya came up to me at break.
"I heard....im so sorry lo , anything I can do just tell me, OK?"
"I want him back...I do.."
"Its OK , I'm here for you " She said
"I love you reya..."
