"Happy birthday dear Rory, happy birthday to you!" We all sang in unison as Rory clapped her hands together, not caring much about the small cake lit in front of her.

"Blow out your candles Aurora!" Millie smiled as she wiped a tear from her cheek, she had been getting emotional about Rory all day.

Rory began to laugh as Millie and I gave eachother a smile before blowing out her candle, cheers from our friends and family heard in the background.

"Let's get a picture, smile big for Auntie Sydney, Rory! Mama, suck it up and smile!" Sydney laughed as she bent down to take a picture of the three of us.

"Let me get in!" Avery called out, rushing over to the little backdrop Millie and Laura had spent all night setting up for the party.

"Smile!" Sydney said, taking the picture and immediately turning back to the small crowd.

"Let's get you out of here, I bet you want your favorite auntie to pick you up!" Avery insisted as she unbuckled Rory from her highchair and carried her over to a few of our friends.

Avery's been doing well, she started high school and is making tons of friends, her and Millie's bond remaining close as ever.

"Damn, I really thought she would get into that cake." I laughed, running my finger along the edge, taking some frosting off and licking it off my finger. Millie was sat, staring into space.

"I still can't believe my baby is a whole year old." Millie said in denial, she's been like this for a few days.

"Millie, you've said that thirty times today, it's okay, she's just growing up. That doesn't mean she'll stop being your baby." I assured her as I got up from my seat, walking over to hers to help her up.

"I guess you're right." Millie admitted as I kissed her cheek lightly, wrapping my arm around her as we made our way back to Rory, a few of our friends stopping to talk to us along the way.

"Auntie?" Evelyn and Prescott's four-year-old son, Elliot, asked as he looked up at me from the kids table Millie insisted we needed.

"What's up buddy?" I replied, bending down to his level before he handed me a juice box to open.

"Can you pretty please open this for me!"

"Sure, here you go." I smiled as I grabbed the juice and opened it quickly before handing it back to him, ruffling his hair as I got up.

By the time I had stood back up, Millie had gone off to somewhere else, Shay and Sydney approaching me in the kitchen.

"Rory is so cute, when are you guys having another?" Shay asked, Sydney smiling as she looked up at Shay. They were really in love, it was absolutely adorable.

"We've talked about it a little, but not much. It was just so hard to get pregnant with Rory and Millie's whole pregnancy was really tough on her. If we do have another we'll probably start trying in the next year or so." I explained, frowning at the thought of seeing Millie go through all of that pain again.
