(A/n: S'upp 👋🏾! Let me just say the beginning might be all over the place lol. I'm rusty. Give me a sec. But other than that, enjoy! )

"(F/n), look, look! There are two in there! Tell me I did a good job!" Mahito holds an ultrasound picture in the camera.

Laughing, "I can't see if you hold it that close. Take a step back... Ah. There it is! Nice job." You smile. "Where's the carrier?"

"Sick with her head in the toilet." He crosses his legs, happily staring at the pics.

"Shouldn't you be tending to your poor wife?" You lean your phone up against your soda can and pull the half-finished cigarette from behind your ear.

Shaking head, "Nah. She hates me in her space like that. Besides, I put her essentials in there and her laptop. She'll be fine."

"How generous." You mutter with the cigarette in your mouth. "Where's Mahi?"

"Fast asleep. As always. That girl never wakes for anything but food." He sighs.

"Heh. She knows what's important already."

"Yeah. I bet Mahi and May would be happy to have your cooking. You know they love it as much as I do." He grins.

"Flattery doesn't work on me, buddy."

"That's too bad. I'd like you to visit soon. Just because I have a family doesn't mean you have to be distant, (F/n)."

"That's not why —"

"You still haven't even introduced me to your boyfriend, Nagoya."

Giggling, "It's Naoya. And he's not worth meeting. Barely worth my time..."

"You've been with him for a year already. Why don't you make babies?"

Choking on the smog, "B-babies! Please, don't joke like that... I'm too young and he's an ass."

"Are things not well between you?"

Hesitantly humming, "I guess you could say that. It's nothing serious though."

"If he's making you unhappy, I can kill him." He casually throws out and you know he means it.

"No. There's no need for anything like that. We're just in a rough patch. We'll get through it soon."

"You and I are family – aren't we?" His irises waver.

"That's a stupid question. Of course, we are."

"Then, I expect the truth next time we speak. If things get too hard there I insist you come over."

Rubbing your nape, "But you're making a football team. How could I possibly stay with you? And housing is expensive."

"About housing..." Mahito leans back, averting his gaze from the camera, "Mayra's parents have been in contact lately. They want us to live with them. I said yes."

"Oh..."

"I know right? They still don't like me but they'll accept me. May's been feeling homesick and with twins on the way and my working schedule, it'll be difficult to manage."
