It had been about 5 months since Eugene finished off his debt with boss, and Eugene still goes to the office.. why? Because boss said it himself.

'The office is brighter and warmer when Eugene is around, and river wouldn't stop bothering Eugene if he did left, so that leaves me no choice'

Hah! It was really funny for boss to say such things, it was kind of weird for boss to say that in just agreeing with river, but hey, Eugene loved it there. Having a mixed and match family was awesome!

Joan being his stern but caring grandmother figure, river as the fun and rebellious like auntie, and Hayden was like his little brother, and finally ..boss as his father like figure. Boss did played the role model of the crew,he always guides the kid and reassures him ,but that's only in Eugene's eyes,as river saw him in a more.... different way.

Tho that just makes Eugene more suspicious of river and boss when being together.. especially when their alone. But hey, Eugene did liked the idea of river as a mother like figure for him, heh..

Eugene thoughts, smiling excitedly as he and river had just done another patrol together, it was fun! River was one of the ghosts that Eugene loved to hang out with, even Hayden, tho he didn't liked putting favorites since he knew what that felt like, so he just doesn't pick anyone in the crew as his favorite.

But then...there's this echo-ish feeling in his soul.. like even when he's not in his body or in his body, he still feels this hollow echo, like something bad would happen...or something along those lines... he definitely doesn't like the feeling, it specially gives him goosebumps ever so now and then... but he would shrug it off..

Tho it still bothered him....

Eugene sigh, as he gazed apon the gray dull night sky, even if it was all just a plain color of gray and black-ish, everything was still beautiful if you just imagine the nice star-y night, with each twinkling star that shine above the moon light, the moon shines with a shimmering glow down onto the city.

The city lights being almost dim, as the streets didn't had much cars left driving around the middle of the night.

The skies were still as beautiful even if they were dull and cold, in the underworld, the buildings lights looked dim and gray, Eugene and river decided to sit on top of one of the buildings there, and the view was magnificent.

Another patrol with river, another night with no monster around, the monsters that roam through the streets did nothing but stare at the living beings that walk pass them, Eugene glanced down from the tall building, as the view reminded him of something....

Eugene quickly shook his head, and gazed back up at the sky, some clouds painting the night sky like a canvas, but with only the gray-ish black colors, the silver lining of the stars seemed to glimer in Eugene's gaze.

River sigh, as they both watch, the stars twinkle with the wind making a whistle like sound, then river noticed the sun slowly rising up. Eugene sigh, he didn't wanted this night to end.. but it was. River held out her hand,as Eugene took it,they then flew back to Eugene's place,since they had already reported back to boss that nothing wrong that had happened lately.

Eugene sigh,river smiled, as Eugene laid back down on his body,til he saw nothing more than darkness....
