"Are you in that shit again Daniel? Didn't you see what it did to me? It almost killed me! Why are you in that?" I scream at Daniel as we stare at each other, barely noticing the gasps of the people at the party with us.

"I couldn't deal with it anymore, Am, the memories were too much!" He yells back.

"The memories?" I scoff, trying to stop the tears, "You left me! If anyone should be doing that, it's me!"

"No, I didn't leave!" He replies loudly.

"Yes you did! You may have forgotten, brother," I scoff, giving up on the tears, "but you weren't the only one they did it to!"

His face froze in shock and softened. "Ambo, I had no idea.... I thought they would stop if I left," He says softly, taking a step towards me.

"Well they didn't," I reply, wiping my eyes again and walking away.

I walk into the kitchen, dancing around a bit as I listen to my music on my phone. I walk softly to the kitchen, grabbing a snack and trying not to wake up my dad as I sneak out the door. I start the walk to school with my hood up as I watch the pavement and occasionally glance back to see little kids run by, laughing and yelling. I finally get to school, noticing the words wrote on my locker and wiping it off quickly.

"Shit," I mumbled when I notice the black marks on my sleeve from the marker. "Well that was a good idea," I add quietly. I grab my books and walk towards homeroom, waiting for the bell to ring so we can leave again.

"Hey," I hear Dayna say from beside me.

"Oh, hey," I said with a small smile, fixing my hair so it mostly covers my forehead and fixing my hood again. I stand up as the bell rings, walking to PE as I fuss about how early it is to be running laps.

"Hey, you okay?" My friend Tessa asks, giving me a small smile.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry," I lie, giving her a smile. 'Damn, I've faked it so long it actually isn't hard to do anymore....' I walk on down to the end of the line, dropping my bag on the floor as I fix my jacket, fixing my long sleeve shirt under it too.

"Did you go to church last night?" Tessa asks.

I nod and she looks at me expectantly.

"Anddddd? What happened??" She asks, looking at me suspiciously.

"Nothing, I got bored and started throwing ice at people plus Kayla jumped on my back randomly but that's it," I reply, looking around the gym.

"He wasn't there? I thought he usually goes?" She asks quickly. "He was there, there was just nothing that happened," I say, following her as we walk toward the locker room door.

I sigh as I look around the classroom, Tessa has AP Calculus this period and Dayna is in Spanish while I'm stuck in English Lit. There's no one here to have my back, but it should be fine as long as I keep my head down. I look at the door as I hear yelling in the hall, seeing Rayne Walker and Marcus Maxwell, two of the most popular guys at the door arguing.

Marcus Maxwell, 5 foot 11 inches of pure muscle, played football for 4 years up until a recent shoulder injury sidelined him. His face, although gorgeous, was always a stony mask. He wasn't as rude as the others but no one wanted to see that gorgeous face distort in rage. I had seen it once, and it wasn't an experience I wanted to have again. I stayed far out of his way, but the pure strength he portrayed was intriguing to me, enough to make me look now and again.

Rayne Walker, brother of Logan Walker. Rayne and Logan, although close in appearance, couldn't be more different personality wise. Rayne made it clear he didn't want the 'attention of the whores around this school' and he kept his affairs pretty private. He was nicer than even Marcus, but there was a look in his eyes that told me not to piss him off, regardless of how nice he seemed.
