- chapter eighteen -
It was Saturday, time for movie night. Victor decided on a shower, nerves and excitement running high. Brielle and Rafe were supposed to come at any minute. He still couldn't believe that it was Brielle who had decided to invite Rafe over, and he felt very happy. It meant that Brielle had finally come to appreciate his friend. Victor stopped himself at this thought. After they'd kissed, neither Victor nor Rafe talked about what they were, and it confused the young human. They were clearly no longer just friends.
When he emerged from the bathroom, he was only wearing jeggings. He wasn't going to dress up. They were just going to watch a film at his place. While he waited for his two friends to arrive, he tidied his room, deep in thought. He was so absorbed in cleaning that he didn't notice the vampire standing in the doorway until he cleared his throat to make himself known.
— Rafe! You're here! The human called out with a smile. I'm sorry, I've finished cleaning and I'm all yours.
— I'm sorry I'm a bit early, the vampire said, watching the young human carefully, who didn't know what he was wearing.
— Don't worry about it, the brunette started, but stopped himself when he realised that he was bare chested. Am I dreaming, or have you been watching me? He asked as he started to put on a shirt.
The vampire pouted at the action, disappointed that he couldn't see more, and shrugged his shoulders. Maybe so, but can you blame me for wanting to look at my boyfriend's hot body? The two teenagers froze at Rafe's words and Victor turned to him with a grin on his face. He walked over to the vampire and planted a kiss on his lips.
— Boyfriend, huh?
— I mean, if you want to, he announced between kissing Victor, holding him tightly.
Victor pulled away from the vampire with a pensive look on his face, as if he didn't know what to do in response. Not happy about this, Rafe held Victor's hips and destabilised him. Victor swallowed. He looked straight into Rafe's eyes. A torrent of passion flowed through them as their faces slowly approached until their lips touched. Victor led Rafe to his bed, never leaving his lover's lips. They were stopped by Brielle's voice:
— God, I need some holy water, she declared as she rubbed her eyes as if to try and clear the image from her mind. To the right of him stood Michael, his arms folded in pride. Victor rolled his eyes at his younger brother's reaction and stood up, warning that he would join Brielle downstairs.
She walked away as Michael gave him a thumbs up before he retreated as well. Victor looked at Rafe and scratched the back of his neck. He was embarrassed that he had been caught. Rafe, for his part, had a smile on his face, he didn't care about being caught, it wouldn't really have been a problem.
He got to his feet and headed for the door, but paused in search of an answer. So is it yes or no?
— Yes, I want to be your boyfriend, he chuckled and motioned for his now lover to leave the room so that they could go and put on a film.
The atmosphere was warm and the evening passed without incident. Victor and Rafe were in each other's arms all the time and thankfully Brielle wasn't the third wheel. At the moment they were all standing at the front door waving goodbye to each other. Brielle had suggested to her best friend that they spend an afternoon together shopping over the coming holidays and he had accepted.
The blonde sighed as Victor closed the door, leaving only the hunter and the vampire. A couple of days ago, she and Ace had studied the cases of the three friends and couldn't help but make a connection between them and the leader of the coven. She had thought that Rafe might have an idea about the identity of this master, that's why she had asked him about it and received a negative answer.
