We go to Elle’s house. On the way she explains not to tell her mom how she self harms, we understand but are a little skeptical. It’s a pretty nice house. It’s a ranch and has pretty flowers in front. Elle gets out of the bus firs to prepare her mom for what is about to happen, and then she motions Jack, Nate, and I to come in. We explain to her our plan, and how we’ll make sure she won’t be harmed in any way. Elle’s mom is incredulous at first. She looks at Elle, Elle looks back and smiles and nods. Her mom then listens.

After a lot of explaining and questions between mostly Nate and Elle’s mom, Elle and her mom excuse themselves to talk it over. They’re inside for about 10 minutes. Elle comes outside beaming.

“I think you guys have a new photographer this summer!” Elle exclaims, we all go in for a group hug. I’m so happy for her, and well all of us. Elle plans to finish out school and then get immediately on the road.

P.O.V. Elle.

School has been out for three days. You might think I should be crying or excited about the fact that high school is over. In reality, I could care less. High school had its ups and downs, but for the most part was uneventful. I’m mostly happy to be away from all of the people. I’m especially pumped to be packing right now. Packing for no, not a vacation. Not to go to a relative’s house in Florida, but to go on tour with fun.

Over the last few days I’ve been finishing up all of my school things. Nate has either called or texted me every day asking me how I’m doing. I actually got caught texting him in school and got my phone taken away. Other than that, everything has been pretty uneventful. I’ve mostly been packing. I have 3 suitcases packed, Nattie said they would have plenty of room for all of the things I would need. I pack mostly clothes, my laptop, my camera, different lenses, two tripods, and eight pairs of shoes. Other than the necessities I take some bottles of Tylenol for headaches, and sleeping pills because sometimes I can’t sleep in unusual situations. I’m pretty much ready to go.
