Chapter 9 - Damage
- Eni's POV -After a few weeks Eni invited Jian to go out, this was the perfect opportunity for Jian to talk to her, but Eni doesn't expect this.
I nervously checked the time on my phone. Jian should be arriving any minute now. I took a deep breath and reminded myself to stay relaxed. I couldn't let my nerves get the best of me, not today.
I had asked Jian out to go see a movie with me earlier that day, and to my surprise, he said yes. I was thrilled but also a little anxious. I didn't know what to expect, but I was determined to make the most of it.
As I waited, I took in my surroundings. The park we were meeting at was beautiful, with lush greenery and a serene pond. The sun was just starting to set, painting the sky with vibrant shades of pink and orange.
Finally, I saw Jian walking towards me, and my heart skipped a beat. He looked handsome as ever, with his hair slicked back and his smile shining.
"Eni," he said, greeting me warmly.
"Jian! Hi, it's so great to see you," I replied, trying not to show how nervous I was.
"Thanks for inviting me out today. I've been really tired, The part time job really took a toll on me," he said, and I felt a rush of relief wash over me.
We headed to the movie theater, chatting and laughing along the way. Once we got there, we got our tickets and settled in for the movie.
The movie was a romantic comedy, and we both laughed and joked throughout the screening. I felt my heart flutter at how much fun we were having together.
After the movie, we headed to a nearby cafe for some coffee and dessert. As we sat across from each other, sipping our lattes, I started to feel more and more comfortable around him. It was like we really clicked.
But then, out of nowhere, Jian started to get serious.
"Eni, can I talk to you about something?" he asked, his tone suddenly somber.
I felt a pit form in my stomach. This couldn't be good.
"Sure," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.
"I wanted to be honest with you," he said, his eyes locking onto mine. "I really appreciate you, and to be honest, I love you Eni, but I think we were better off as friends."
All the blood left my face. I was hurt, but I didn't want him to see me cry, I guess after all this time he still hasn't gotten over Risa, is it because of the talk they had? Either way I'm not having any of this.
"we can't just be friends anymore Jian!" I said, "'Friends' don't know how you taste,"
"Eni, I know alot has happened, but... Risa, she's important to me, she's the one I truly love," he replied "All of this was a mistake."
"But Jian! I love you, I truly do, why dont you understand that?" I objected "She left you! I'm the one here!"
"SHE LEFT ME BECAUSE OF YOU ENI!" I've never thought I'd hear him shout at me, This is all wrong, I can't lose Jian, not again.
As things tension up I notice people staring at Us, He pulled me outside, It was raining.
"Look Jian I know things didn't go to smooth, Things weren't all rainbows, but Jian, I can't lose you, I'm sorry if whatever I did was wrong," I tried to convince him to stay.
"This was beyond wrong Eni, All of this is." Jian replied, "Dont leave me Jian, I'll do anything, I can treat you better than she can," I persuade him more.
"I'm sorry Eni, This just isn't right, I broke the most important thing to me, but that doesn't mean I cant fix it, It's time to do the right thing." He said, Jian let go of my hand and walked away, I can't believe it, I can't let this happen.
"JIAN! COMEBACK!"
"FUCK!"As I watched him walk away, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of anger. This is all Risa's fault, If Jian never met her He would be all mine, and no one else's.
But even as I mourned the loss, Crying won't do anything, I have to do something, I can't lose him, not again, if I can't have him, no one can.
Chapter 10: A Rainy Night's Reconciliation
The rain was pouring down heavily on the windshield of Jian's car as he drove home the date with Eni. The streets were empty and the only sound he could hear was the pattering of raindrops against his car. He sighed heavily as he reached for his phone and dialed Risa's number, He kinda feels bad for leaving Eni there but he knows it was the right decision, If he wants to fix things he has to start by leaving Eni.
"Hey, Risa. You free this weekend?" Jian asked as he navigated the slippery roads.
Risa's voice was soft on the other side of the phone, "Yeah, I don't have any plans. Why?"
"I was thinking we could go out and do something fun. Maybe go to out favorite spot or something," Jian suggested.
"Sure, that sounds good. I'd like that," Risa replied with a hint of excitement.
Jian felt a small wave of relief wash over him. It had been months since they had spent any quality time together. The distance had grown between them, and Jian knew it was his fault. He had been so caught up with Eni he had ruin thungs he neglected the relationship, forgot about their relationship.
The following day, Jian went to the store and bought all of Risa's favorite things - her favorite flowers, chocolates, and her favorite book. He felt motivated to fix things and bring their relationship back to where it used to be.
As he drove to Risa's house with the surprise in his hands, he felt nervous. Would she be happy to see him? Would she accept his apology? Jian took a deep breath and rang the doorbell. As Risa opened the door, Jian was drenched from the rain, but he didn't care as he handed her the gifts.
"For me?" Risa asked with surprise, taking the flowers and chocolate from him.
Jian nodded and smiled softly, "I'm sorry for everything, Risa. I know this isn't enough and I got a long way but i hope this helps."
Risa's expression softened as she looked at him, "It's the thought that counts."
They spent the rest of the day together, watching their favorite movie and indulging in a homemade dinner. As the night drew to a close, Jian felt relieved that their relationship was on the mend. He knew it would take time, but he was willing to put in the effort.
As they said their goodbyes, Jian looked up to see the long rain had stopped. The sky was clearing up, and a rainbow hung in the distance. He smiled to himself, knowing that it was a sign of a new beginning for him and Risa.
