tick, tock, tick, tock. darkness. inky black darkness was all i could see. tick, tock, tick, tock. "troy." a female's voice sang. i want to call out to the voice, but when i open my mouth the inky black substance around me flooded into my mouth. i started chocking, my eyes burned. was this really the end? the voice laughed, then spoke again. "it would be smarter if you don't open your mouth." i was stating to get angry. i tried screaming but it didn't work. more darkness came into my mouth, burning my throat. i tried kicking and punching, but my body wouldn't move. i was frozen in spot. tears started rolling down my pail face. i was going to die. tick, tock, tick, tock. there was no hope left. "troy." the unknown thing whispered into my ear. "times running out." what did it mean? times running out? "wake up, and run." tick, tock, tick, tock. there was a long pause. i thought the voice was gone but it came back. "now troy, wake up!" the voice yelled.

i sat straight up in bed, breathing heavily. tears stained my face. i look around the damp dark room i was in. everything looked the same as it did when i feel asleep. was i going to listen to the voice and run? well the answer is yes, I'm going to run. i climbed out of bed and started to walk quietly towards the door. i picked up my tattered bag and put it on. i turned the door nob with shaky hands. i want to go run home and into my mother's arms, but if i went home mom will only beat me for running away. i opened the door. "tick, tock, tick, tock, tick." why did the clock sound so loud? i need to get away from it. now. i tip toed down the narrow hallway and into the kitchen. i looked at the dreaded clock. 3:30am. only a couple more hours till sun rise. "tick, tock, tick, tock." the clock ticked violently. i covered my ears in hope that, that will solve the problem. but the clock's ticks and tocks pounded into my head. i had to leave, before i lose my sanity. i waked out of the kitchen and into the living room. the only light in the room was from the tv. wait, why was the tv on? you know what, the owner of the house probably just forgot to turn it off. without wanting to stay another minute inside this horrid house, i left as quickly as i could. i ran down the street, not knowing where to go, or who to go to. all i need to do is get out of this strange little town.
