"I-I didn't get my salary yet-"

"You useless brat." The voice hissed harshly in my ear as I flinched. She was far from being able to touch me on a phone but it was a habit I had adopted over years. A few months of living away won't change the way of my life.

"M-Mother I prom-"

"Don't call me that you little piece of shit! If I don't get my money by the end of this week! Mind it! I will find you, and-" It was sudden, I shouldn't have done it but I ended the call with trembling fingers.

My eyes teared.

I didn't want to see her again! Ever!

I didn't do anything wrong, and I wasn't lying, but somehow, I was always wrong in her eyes and I never understood why. It was always something about me that got her mad, and her anger would come down gushing over my body like molten metal, burning every inch of flesh it touched.

"Nay?" I covered my mouth with a shaky palm trying to confine the noises my throat made without my knowledge, probably too stunned after hearing the voice of that woman.

"Y-Yes?" I answer, trying to sound as polite as possible. "Are you alright in there?" I took a deep breath and batted my eyelashes a few times. Bringing up my feet on the closed toilet seat only to bury my head in my knees I breathed out.

"Yes, I'll be out in a second."

Hugging my knees to my chest somehow comforted me, whenever I cried I'd do that to control my emotions. It helped, a lot.

"Mrs. Park?" I pulled a smile on my lips as the lady slowly turned around, her brown wrinkly eyes vanished as a full smile graced her lips. She quickly hugged my frame as I grinned wider. "Nari... It feels wrong to leave you..."

I felt my heart swell at her words. I sighed after pulling away gently and leaning down a little before pecking her forehead. "You aren't getting rid of me that easy, ma'am. I'll call you okay?" I giggled before smiling as comfortingly as I could while wiping the warm tears that fell down her cheeks.

"You made these months in the hospital so easy for both of us, child, may god bless you." I felt myself smile as I looked up to see Mr. Park, he was a cat hybrid too, like his wife. "It was my pleasure to be with you, sir." I grinned as the man smiled at me.

"Now, now. Stop crying and give me a smile?" I poked her wrinkly cheeks as she choked a laugh through her tears, hugging my frame again. I would lie if I say it didn't feel heavy, bidding her goodbye. She was a lovely lady, I enjoyed her company a lot.

The time I spent with her was golden. "Take care of yourself and don't skip your medicines, contact me if something happens, alright?" I smiled as I closed the door to their cab. Mrs. Park gave me one last smile with teary eyes as I bid her and her husband goodbye. They were nice people... I'd miss them.

"Noona!" I flinched at the sudden noise before I recognized the tiny footsteps that ran my way. I quickly turned around only to find Jaemin running towards me on his little feet, his parents walking behind him with warm smiles on their faces.

"Oh my~ Who might this be~?" I sang with a small smile as he clung to my legs, hugging me. I leaned down to pick him up in my arms before tickling his tummy. "I still can't believe he's this big so soon." I sighed looking at his mother who smiled back at me.

"I know right? Not only that, he's getting way more mischievous too!" She complained with a playful scowl. Her husband leaned in taking his son in his arms as Jaemin whined.
