Chapter 9

Elena's POV

It was race day.

I made my way to Alpine garage to say hello to Kate, Kika, and Pierre before heading over to the RedBull garage.

"Good luck Frenchie" I said to Pierre as he put his helmet on. "Thanks El" he said smiling with his eyes. 

I then left to go see Max who pulled me into a hug as soon as he saw me "you came" he smiled "you asked me to, of course I'd come" I said squeezing his arm softly. "The race is about to start, Kelly's already inside" he said motioning to the garage as I nodded before making my way over to Kelly.

"Hiii" I said as we both hugged "nice to see you again" said Kelly into the hug drawing a smile on my face. We sat there watching the race and talking about everything from work to relationships and we got to know each other more until the race was over.

We all went to celebrate the drivers, I stood with Kelly, Kika, and Kate watching the celebration when Charlotte came to stand and watch with us as well.

"We're all celebrating today, do you both want to come?" Kika asked me and Kate as we watched the celebration "I have an early flight tomorrow back to Monaco sorry" I said "Excuse me what?" I heard Charlotte's  from behind her "you live in Monaco?" she asked "yeah, have been for a year or so" I said "so you knew Charles from a year ago?" she asked "God no, we only met this year at the race for like 5 minutes and that was it" I said.

After the podium celebration, interviews were about to start. Kelly went to Max, Kika and Kate went to Pierre, and I was left with Charlotte. I took a deep breath before deciding to speak "I'm sorry" we both said in the same breath which made us both laugh. "You go first" I said "I'm sorry I snapped at you yesterday and today" she said with a smile "I'm sorry about the rumors but I promise you nothing happened between us" I said softly before continuing "the only reason the rumor even started was because I came to the paddock with him and Pierre, then I started having a panic attack because of the media and the fans, he only tried to help" I sighed remembering what happened. "I'm sorry" I whispered as I felt the tears welling up in my eyes. I felt her pull me into a tight hug.

"Friends?" she said softly as we broke the hug "Friends." I smiled "Lets meet in Monaco" she said as she squeezed my arm lightly "sure" I smiled before seeing Charles making his way to the Ferrari garage looking at us slightly confused. "Go to him" I said with a smile "and thanks for listening Char" I continued before we both walked our separate ways.
