Chapter 1

2022 -  Elena's POV

It was this time of year again, the Monaco Grand Prix. Both me and Kate agreed that since we're both in the same country we'll go together like last year. I spent the past year between university, dating, and just exploring Monaco since I'm studying Luxury Fashion Management and Photography here. Kate mentioned that some of the drivers live in Monaco but I never bumped into any of them.

Kate had to go to the paddock early so I decided I'd meet her there instead of going with her. I got dressed, and made my way to the paddock. I was walking towards the Alpine to see Kate before the race starts, she was taking a some photos for social media of Pierre and Esteban.

When the race started, both Kate and I were watching the race from the garage. "I see you're supporting Ferrari today" she said pointing at the Ferrari logo on my jacket; "their vintage jackets are too pretty I can't help it" I let out a soft chuckle. 

I only started to watch formula 1 because of Kate so I can be able to better understand and support her as much as I can, I haven't missed watching a single race. With time, I became a Ferrari fan. 

We kept watching while I was lowkey rooting for Charles to win this race, I was literally on the edge of my seat the whole time. Sadly he came in fourth, but at least one Ferrari made it on the podium.

Everyone went to the podium to congratulate the winners. Kate left to make sure the pro race work gets done, from interviews with the drivers to the social media content. 

I loved going to the Monaco Grand Prix, there's just a vibe around that's unmatched in the whole country when it's time for the grand prix. I decided to take a few photos for my instagram while she was gone.

While walking around the paddock I passed by the Ferrari garage, snapping a quick photo of it before turning around to leave, only to find my self face to face with him. Charles Leclerc.

"It's you" he whispered barely loud enough for me to hear, which led me to give him a puzzled look.

Charles' POV

"It's you" I whispered in disbelief that she's actually here. I mean I was hoping to see her again, but I didn't expect to actually see her. God she's even more beautiful that I remember.

She looked so confused, "excuse me?" she said while looking at me. "Sorry, Hi I'm Charles" I said while holding out my hand for a handshake which she took instantly "Elena Sinclair" she said with a smile. "Nice to meet you Elena" I said "Are you with Alpine?" I asked pointing at the Alpine access pass, "No, well yes, kind of. My friend Kate is their social media manager, I'm here with her" she said while blushing lightly. She was nervous, and so was I but I didn't show it.

"Nice jacket" I said with a smirk, "thank you" she said softly while blushing. "Can I ask you something?" she asked "You just did" I said with a small smirk; she let out a nervous laugh "oh right, never mind" she said. "No, of course you can ask me anything" I said making her smile and look to the ground a bit then look up to me, "you said, 'its you', what did you mean?" she asked still confused. "I'll tell you someday" I said with a smile not breaking eye contact. I heard one of the Ferrari engineers calling for me which led me to look behind her, I could see my team gathering around to celebrate Carlos' podium "I'll see you around Elena, it was nice seeing you again" I said walking to the Ferrari garage.

She stood there for a few seconds after I left looking a bit confused then walked away, I was looking at her the whole time until she disappeared from my eye sight.

Elena's POV

I was so confused as I walked away from the Ferrari garage, what did he mean with its you and did he says see you again? When did he see me? I only saw him last year when he was on the podium, I doubt he even remembers me. I was overthinking this whole 5 minute talk with Charles.

I decided I should probably go home since Kate was still working, I pulled out my phone and texted her:

Hey Katie, I'll see you at home alright? x

KATE💙
You're leaving already? 

ELENA
Yeah, gonna go to bed early today, got uni tmrw

oh ok, I might come back late today

ELENA
Alright love, have fun and stay safe. I love you Katie xo

I sighed as I put my phone away and made my way out to leave. We haven't been spending as much time together as we'd like. I'm always busy with school and looking for an internship and she's always travelling. Monaco GP is the only time I actually get to see her, yet we still don't spend much time together.

I got home and decided to put on a movie before going to bed, I wasn't really watching. Just scrolling through social media. I decided to edit a few of the photos I took and post them on my instagram.

I put my phone down to watch the movie, but after a while I saw my phone screen light up with a notification that caught my eye.

Charles_Leclerc started following you

I blinked a few time because I couldn't believe he actually followed me. Nobody that he knows is following me. A few seconds later I got another notification.
