A/N ~ Sorry it's been so god damn long! I didn't have any ideas for this story and now I do! So yay! Just in case anyone reads it, my other story 'No Ordinary Love' has been put on hold. I'd like to focus on this story a bit more, I think it has more potential.
And just so you know, this chapter is pretty short. I just wanted to upload something for you guys, you must be getting bored!
Thanks, love you all! :3 xx
*Bens p.o.v*
Alex wasn't as bad as I had thought...
I'd known him for a day and he'd already managed to get me to open up to him.
I've told him things I wouldn't dream of telling anyone else...
I don't know how he's done it, but he has. I have to thank him for that. He genuinely seems to care for me, someone that he doesn't even know.
He's had a big impact on me already and I've not even known him for twenty-four hours.
Alex had reached out his hand, grabbed mine and pulled me up.
"Now I don't know about you, but my bum is numb. Ha, that rhymes! And I've got pins and needles in my feet, I can't even stand up properly," Alex had started babbling again.
As we were walking out of the toilets and into the now abandoned corridors, he'd finally stopped talking and quietened to a whisper,
"Ben, do you have a phone?"
I nodded and he smiled a little.
"Well, can I have your number? You're super awesome and we're practically besties now."
I laughed a little (what is this boy doing to me?) and wrote my mobile number on his hand.
"Aw! Thanks Ben," he smiled "It's getting late and my parents would be wondering where I am."
"It's only 3:35, Alex. Are you sure it's getting late?"
"Well they're really strict so they won't be too happy if I walk through the door ten minutes late," Alex shrugged his shoulders and waved at me. "I'll see you tomorrow, bestie."
"I'll see you tomorrow Alex. I mean- uh- bestie." I blushed a lot and he laughed out loud.
"Aww, little Ben's blushing! How adorable?"
With that, he was walking down the corridor, tripping over his bag straps a couple of times because of the long strings.

*Alex's p.o.v*
All the way home, I was thinking to myself 'Stupid Alex! Why'd you ask for his number? You've blown it, he'll think you're a creep!' but then again, he did give me his number and he didn't say I was a creep.
Thinking about it, it went pretty darn well!
I looked at my watch and realised I was a full fifteen minutes late.
A WHOLE fifteen minutes.
Good God, what if they kill me?
I'll never talk to Ben again.
Sugar Honey Iced Tea.
They might lock me away forever and ever.
Ah crap.
Anyway, I had reached the front door. I pushed it open feebly with my hand and hoped that the hinges had been oiled quite recently.
Sadly, they hadn't.
Both my parents, my mum and dad, were sat on the sofa staring at the now opened door.
"What time do you call this, Alex?" My mum spoke with an angered tone to her voice.
"I'm sorry mum. I'm sorry dad. I promise it won't happen again. I was with a new friend and I'd lost track of the time and I'm really sorry."
I'd tried my best to convince them that I was sorry."A new friend? I didn't think you were capable of making new friends, Alex. What have we told you? Friends drag you down. They lie to you, hurt you, make you weaker. We didn't raise you like this for nothing. It builds character, Alex, and you can't throw that away." My dad started giving me the same lecture as always.
Friends will hurt you.
Friends will lie to you.
Friends drag you down.
Blah blah blah...
"But you don't understand. Ben's different. He's not like everyone else! I feel like I have to protect him."
"Alex, your dad does have a point," My mum stuck up for him like always. "I think you should leave this Ben alone. He'll hurt you like everyone else!"
"You don't understand! None of you understand! Everyone else has hurt him! I have to protect him, make him feel wanted, loved even. I'm going to be there for him whether you like it or not."
I don't know where this sudden boost of confidence came from but it's really not helping.
"Alex, apologise to your mother. Now." My father spoke while standing up.
"I'm sorry mum, I don't know what came over me. But please let me help him, you don't understand..." I begged and begged, got on my hands and knees even, and eventually, they gave in.
"Alex. Your mother and I have decided that you can have one friend. This friend will be Ben. No one else. You even think of making new friends, we'll move house and you'll never see this Ben again. Do you understand?"
I nodded my head and smiled, "Thank you dad!"
I went to give them both a hug and ran up the stairs, straight to my bedroom. I pulled my phone out from under my pillow and send Ben a text,
To: Ben
