The next day, James arrived at the field, ready for practice. As he made his way to the locker room, he saw Alex standing on the other side of the field with his teammates. Their eyes met for a moment, and James could feel the heat rising in his cheeks.

The practice started as usual, with both teams warming up separately. But soon, the coaches decided to mix things up, pairing players from both teams together for some drills. James found himself partnered with Alex, and he could feel the tension between them.

At first, they avoided each other's eyes and worked silently, but as the drills progressed, they had to start communicating more though it was incredibly awkward between them. Alex's movements were fluid and graceful, and James found himself admiring him even though he tried not to. He couldn't help but feel drawn to him, even though they were supposed to be rivals.

After the drills were over, the teams split up again for some individual practice. James was lost in thought as he practiced his moves, but he couldn't help but still steal glances at Alex. He wondered if he was thinking about their kiss too.

As the days passed after their heated encounter in the locker room, James found himself thinking more and more about Alex. He couldn't shake the memory of their kiss and the way Alex's body had felt pressed up against his own.

But as much as he wanted to explore these feelings further, Alex seemed to be avoiding him. Every time James would catch a glance of him, Alex would turn the other and quickly walk away.

It wasn't until another joint practice session between the two rival teams was arranged by their coaches that James had another chance to be near Alex again. As luck would have it, they ended up being paired together for a drill, and James could feel his heart racing as he stood across from Alex on the field.

For the first few minutes, they both focused on the task at hand, trying their best to outdo each other in the drill. But as they continued, James found himself stealing glances at Alex, admiring the way his muscles bulged under his tight jersey and the way his eyes sparkled in the sunlight.

At one point, James made a mistake in the drill, and Alex quickly took advantage of it, snatching the ball away from him. As James stood there, panting and frustrated, Alex gave him a smirk and a taunting wink.

James felt a surge of anger and desire all at once because Alex had been avoiding him constantly these past days, and before he could stop himself, he lunged at Alex, tackling him to the ground. They both went down hard, and James found himself lying on top of Alex, their bodies pressed together once again.

For a moment, they just lay there, catching their breath and staring into each other's eyes. But then Alex pushed James off him, scrambling to his feet and walking away without a word.

James watched him go, feeling a mix of confusion and disappointment. Had he misread the signals between them? Was Alex really not interested in him?

But deep down, James knew that he couldn't just ignore the feelings that had been building inside him. He was attracted to Alex, and he wanted to explore that attraction further, no matter how hard Alex tried to deny it.
