Y/N'S POV :

Everything was planned perfectly. I going to go to the game today. I had seats near the boards and everything. I paid for the tickets too. I didn't want to just get a free pass. It feels more worth it to pay.

But then my dad called me. He told me that my mom had gone into the hospital very sick, and the doctors said she wouldn't have much time left. As soon as I heard those words, it's like everything froze. As much as I would've loved to go out and support Dmitry, I just couldn't. I had to go see my mom. I had to talk to her– even if it would be the last time I did.

I had gotten home from the hospital, feeling tired and overwhelmed with emotion. I didn't want to do anything but sleep, but I wanted to watch the rest of the game, so that way even if I wasn't there I could still be supporting Dmitry.

I watched as everyone played their hearts out, the second period was nearing it's end. The score was 3-2, the Wild in the lead. The clock had 6.7 seconds left, and I payed close attention. Dmitry, Matt, and Garnet were skating towards the net. Garnet made a pass to Matt, and Matt to Dmitry. There was 1.3 seconds running on the clock, and Dmitry took the chance to shoot the puck.

The puck went into the net with 0.5 seconds left, and then came all of his teammates surronding him, giving him hugs. I was really proud of him. He never fails to make me proud. He's the type of person to make you proud easily, even if it's for something as simple as helping out a teammate.

I smiled as the finally puck drop of the period ran out the clock. The intermission came on, and I scrolled through my phone. Mainly checking the Bruins instagram to see the posts about Dmitry's goal.

I smiled when I saw the post honoring his goal. I started hearing the TV play again in the background and I turned my phone off. The game started up again and I continued watching happily.

The score stay 3-3 for most of the period. The game was very tense. I bit my nails a little bit. The clock was running down fast. There was 10.7 seconds left. Dmitry stole the puck from Merril and quickly passed the puck to Brad. Brad passed to Jake, and Jake back to Brad as Dmitry made his way to the net. Dmitry went to the corner of the net, and Brsd passed him the puck. Dmitry stuck it in quickly with .3 seconds left.

A huge smile was plastered across my face. I normally have no care to watch the stars of the game, but I wanted to today. I had a gut feeling something good would happen.

The third and second stars were announced, and then came the announcement for the first star of the game.

"And our first star of the game.. Dmitry Orlov!"

I was really happy to hear that he got it. He makes me so proud, and he deserves this more than anything. He's amazing. He's an amazing player, and an amazing person.

He skated out onto the ice and the interviewer asked him a couple of questions before he started a speech.

"Thank you all for coming out tonight. I appreciate all of the support and love today. But I'm dedicating this.. speech you could say, to someone special in my life." He took a breath before continuing to speak. "This special person, was unable to come tonight. Something came up, and I had to let her skip the game this time. But she's truly the reson I've been able to come so far. She's pushed me to try my hardest, and to play my best. And when I got traded, she wasn't upset or annoyed, she was ecstatic and supportive. That's everything and more I could've asked for in her. She's my inspiration, and my confidence. And I just wanted to say, even if she's watching this or not, that I love her, and I'm forever grateful she's the reason I'm here today."

My heart was swelling with emotion as I heard him say this.

I'm the reason he's come so far? How did I get so lucky with him?

I turned the TV off and took the next while to care for myself after my long day. I showered, and relaxed for a little before starting on dinner. I heard the door unlocking, and a smile formed on my face.

"Y/N! I'm home!" Dmitry called out.

"I'm in the kitchen!" I responded.

He walked into the kitchen, and I smiled at him. I turned back to the stove, finishing on the soup I made. He came up from behind me and he snaked his arms around me. He buried his face in the side of my neck as he hugged me.

"I love you, Y/N."

"I love you more." I replied calmly.

"Don't be ridiculous." He laughed

"I'm not being ridiculous." I responded, a smile creeping up on my lips.

"Keep telling yourself that." He said, moving his face away from my neck.

"Cute speech of yours." The smile was still on my lips.

Dmitry leaned forward, and looked at me with his arms still wrapped around me.

"You watched?" He asked, a smile on his face.

"Of course I did." I smiled. "I could never be prouder."

"You're amazing, Y/N. You truly are."

"You are too." I smiled, finally done with the cooking.

I removed the pot off of the hit burner, and out it on the cool burner next to it. I turned around and looked at Dmitry. He was already smiling. I pulled him into a hug, before kissing him.

"I'm glad I could be your inspiration."

"I'm glad that you're my inspiration too." He said, hugging me one more time.
