The Unknown Warning

All night I was dreaming about my own choices. I wasn't going to let Lily talk to me like that. So today I went and sat next to Brynn and Terra on the cramped school bus. Planned out already, I was going to tell them about the popular group and me being a part of it.

'Hi guys, how are you?' I asked, making a good start to our conversation.

'Amazing thanks. How is your popular group and you doing?' Terra answered, sarcasm in her voice.

'Oh...' I staggered.

'Did you not think we would find out Aria? Everyone in school is talking about it! Why didn't you tell us?' She questioned me, knocking my plan off balance.

'Trust me, I was, but you don't understand how hard it is to tell my best friends. It takes so much courage to talk to you guys, honestly.' I told them. Looking at their faces, they weren't buying one bit of it. Great.

'Save it for another best friend.' Brynn said, looking away.

I moved along to Aimee, feeling disheartened. Frankly, I didn't want this to happen at all. My friendship that I've had for so long has now been ruined by some group. Uh!

For the rest of the bus ride to school I sat silently. Me and Aimee got off, getting a look of disgust from both Terra and Brynn. My heart sank, thinking that they would hate me forever.

Aimee and I reached Lily and her two friends. One of the two friends was staring at me, I felt like she was looking straight through me.

'Aimee, can I have a quick word?' Lily asked Aimee, leading her away from me. I was left with the two friends. One was a brunette and the other a blonde.

'We need to talk to you.' The blonde said. I nodded, allowing them to continue.

'I'm Ava and that's Amber, my sister. But that's not what we are here to talk to you about. We're talking to you cause we are warning you.' The brunette, Ava, told me.

'A warning for what?' I asked slightly confused.

'Aimee texted Lily, saying that you were talking to the geeks. Lily will do something bad like send a horrific pic viral or something so watch out and be super nice to her. Okay?' Ava told me, sympathy in her vibrant green eyes.

To think about it, Aimee was awful quiet this morning. She was usually bubbly and always up for a chat but today was different. She has obviously changed from being my true friend I guess. Why would she do such a thing to humiliate me in front of possibly the whole school? I swear smoke is fuming out my ears right now.

'But wait. Why did you warn me?' I asked, slightly confused by their kindness.

'We were in the same position a few weeks ago. Plus Lily isn't a true friend to anyone. She just wants the popularity and to show that she can make a group. A popular group to be exact.' Autumn told me.

'So are we friends?' Ava asked, a slight smile on her face, showing her white as snow teeth.

'Yes! I'm so glad as I don't have any right now .' I told them, a slight sigh escaping my mouth.

I lost a total of three best friends in a day and I think I just made two new ones...
