Chapter 2: The Boss and the Receptionist
As days went by, Daisy Mae began to settle into her new job. She was getting the hang of things and was starting to feel more comfortable around her colleagues. However, she couldn't shake off the memory of the young CEO she had encountered on her first day of work.
One day, as she was busy answering calls at the front desk, Ethan Alexander Brown suddenly walked in.
"Miss Johnson, could you come to my office please?" he asked, his tone formal and business-like.
Daisy Mae's heart skipped a beat as she followed him to his office. She couldn't help but feel nervous, wondering what the CEO wanted to talk to her about.
When they arrived at his office, Ethan Alexander Brown gestured for Daisy Mae to take a seat in front of his desk.
"I've been watching you, Miss Johnson," he said, his gaze steady and focused. "You're doing a great job here, and I want to offer you a promotion."
Daisy Mae couldn't believe her ears. A promotion? Already? She had only been working for a few weeks.
"Th-thank you, sir," she stammered. "But I don't think I'm ready for a promotion yet."
Ethan Alexander Brown smiled at her response. "I believe in you, Miss Johnson. You have great potential, and I know you'll do well in this new position."
