Chapter 1: New beginnings

Y/n's pov:

I laid in the back of the car gazing out the window of my new town, Hurricane Utah. It was a pretty place, the morning rays made it even more pretty. I saw many different things to do while my dad drove along the streets of this town. Hopefully I'd have friends to go to these places with,I heard that we will be neighbors to a family who has a son my age so that's cool. My dad started to slow down and it looked like we arrived at our new home. The house was pretty nice, I grabbed my blanket and other stuff and took them into the house.

I helped my parents bring a few things into the house and then grabbed the boxes for my room and unpacked them, I made my bed and then hung up my clothes and put up some of my posters and other clutter. I was pretty tired and since it was 6:00 am I decided to take a nap, my mom woke me up a few hours later and told me we were going to be having dinner at the Aftons tonight at 5:00. I sighed and she left, I decided to take a shower and then picked my outfit.

I decided on a maroon cardigan with baggy mom jeans. I then did my eyeliner and put my hair into a messy bun. I just sketched on my notepad until my mom called me downstairs. She told me we needed to head over to the Aftons now, I got in the car and we drove to their house. I don't know why we didn't just walk but whatever, my mother knocked on the door and a burnt orange haired woman answered the door. "Oh hi Angela, how nice to see you and your family", my mom followed the woman inside the house and I followed behind my dad. The woman looked at me and said "oh you must be y/n, I'm Clara" I smiled slightly and said "nice to meet you" she gave me a cheery smile and led my mother into the kitchen.

Clara said "Evan, Elizabeth come down here sweethearts", two children ran down the stairs. A young girl who I'm assuming was Elizabeth ran to me and said "I'm Elizabeth, do you want to come play with me" Clara walked out and said "sure, you can play with them until dinner is ready" I smiled and held Elizabeth's hand and walked up the stairs. She took me to her room and I sat next to her in front of a dollhouse, she handed me a blonde barbie "I don't have any that look like you" she then frowned. I smiled and said "that's okay I love this doll" she smiled happily and then looked towards her door, I turned around and saw a young boy stand in her doorway. "Can I play with you guys" the boy said Elizabeth laughed and said "sure Evan come on, this is y/n" he waved at me and I waved back.

We played for a while and then Clara hollered "kids, dinner" I followed them down the stairs and sat in between them at the table. Clara sighed and said "Michael dinner!" A couple seconds after that a tall dark haired boy walked down the stairs and glared at his mom then sat next to Evan. My parents were taking to Clara and the other man, he must be William, William looked at me and said "so y/n do you like the town" I looked up at him. "I do, there seems like there is a lot of stuff to do here" he smiled and Clara said "I'm sure Michael would love to show you around the town sometime". Michael sighed and said "really mo-" but he was cut off by William glaring at him angrily.

We all finished our food and I said goodbye to Evan and Elizabeth and promised I would play with them again. Me and my family went home and watched an old television show, I decided to get ready for bed so I wasn't tired for school.

I woke up at around 7:30 and I had school at 8:45. I decided to wear a band shirt with baggy jeans and put my hair in braids. I then did my eyeliner and put some studded earings in. I got my backpack that had all my favorite badges on it and then went downstairs, my dad was at work so my mom took me to school. She promised me a icee after school since I was pretty scared to go to school.

I slowly walked into the school and saw Michael and a group of people standing pretty close to where my locker is. I tried to quickly walk past them but I was grabbed by my arm by a tall dude. "Who's this pretty little thing" he said, Michael rolled his eyes "just a stupid new kid" the dude sighed and let me go, I glared at Michael and went and put my stuff in my locker. I headed to my first class, science, thankfully I didn't have to do that introduce yourself to the class bullshit.

Most of my classes were chill, my English teacher told us about a writing assignment we would start Tuesday, it's sadly a partner assignment. My mom took me to the gas station and got me an icee like she told me she would. I got home and decided to make a drawing for Evan and Elizabeth, I drew Evan a teddy bear and I drew Elizabeth a unicorn. I decided to stop by the aftons and give Evan and Elizabeth their drawing, I knocked on the door and Michael answered he glared at me but motioned for me to come in. I asked Clara if the kids were upstairs, she nodded and I walked up the stairs to see Elizabeth and Evan. I opened Elizabeth's bedroom door "get out Michael" she said, I laughed and said "I'm not Michael silly" she ran to me and said "y/n!" I hugged her and handed her her drawing, she gasped and said "wow this is beautiful y/n".

I smiled and said "thank you, now where is Evan" she nodded over to the dollhouse and he was sitting there. I walked over to him and handing him his drawing he quietly said "thank you" I nodded and told the both goodbye. I left the Aftons house and walked back to mine, my mom made chili for dinner, it was delicious. I cleaned up my vanity a little then went to bed. This year was going to be fun.
