He was startled from his slumber sleepiness to the lone figure that walked about the darkness. "Emilia?" His mind was a haze of confusion. "No, my lord, -" The figure looked down at her feet then up at him. "It is Lilly my lord, her ladyship's chamber maid my lord." Fear rose in him, and he rushed for the door.

"Has anything happened to her? Oh lord, if Hams touched her I swear I will-" "No my lord." Her hand held his and he felt a shock of puzzlement run up his body. As if some foreign substance had taken control of him.

"Then what are you doing in my chambers miss? I believe I have someone that takes care of my belongs, you were assigned to her ladyship." He gave them a good arm's length of distance and she nodded, he had to blink twice to balance himself. "Her ladyship, well, I made some herbal tea for you my lord, to help calm your ponding-"

Again, she came so close to him as if offering herself to him revealing the soft swell of her chest underneath the robe she wore.

"Out!" Her presence caused a sort of suffocation that even he felt most uncomfortable in his own skin.

He looked at the tea that sat patiently cooling by his bedside table but that wasn't what he wanted. He pulled open his chamber door and walked over to Emilia's, his hands held the handle but found it extremely hard pushing the door open.

He didn't want to wake her up, but again he wanted to be with her.

He rested his head against the cool wood and allowed his thoughts wonder, mostly on his upcoming divorce. He was lucky to have gotten him a judge willing to grant him an annulment, a private one at that and preparations had been made for Emilia's stay in the countryside of Sallow with a monthly allowance, as well as a chamber maid. He was going to be free of his wife and free to take a woman of his needs not for marriage but rather for his pleasure. Though the thought wasnt as exciting as he thought it to be, parting from his wife brought a saddening feeling. One he didnt want to think of at least not yet.

Was he already getting fond of his wife? Did he really have second thoughts on not divorcing her?

He heard a small rustle come from the other side of the door and the low creek of wood confirmed she was indeed awake. His heart stopped. Then he did the unthinkable, he twisted the door's handle and it opened to reveal her figure sitting on the bed slowly braiding her hair in the dim of the moonlight. He knew at that moment he wanted comfort from her warm arms, from her.

"My lady."

"My lord."

She made no movement of getting up. The warmth of her room was alluring and her eyes beckoned him to her. He closed the door with so much gentleness as he could and pulled off his shoes, ready to strip for her.

The cold floor bit at his feet but he didn't mind. She pulled away at the covers and he in turn pulled at his clothes, leaving only his trousers on.

He was over at the wash basin where he found fresh warm water and sweet smelling soaps, the same fragrance he could always get from her person whenever he was close.

He could tell her gaze never left his person and her eyes followed each drop of water as they disappeared into the fabric of his trousers. Once he was done with his washing he made his way towards the bed to her warm presence. "My lord,-"

He hashed her with a kiss one so gentle she sighed into his mouth. "Not now Emilia." And snuggled himself under the covers but not without pulling her to him. Her body rested against his chest and her head tucked perfectly under his chin. She turned her back to his person and was tempted by her bottoms pushing hard on him. "Emilia." He warned sleepily but even that didn't stop his arousal which he knew she felt.
