Chapter 1
Jace would wake up on his king sized bed next to Akari. "Rise and shine loser" she'd say playfully serving Jace breakfast. "You know, you were quick to become my friend." Jace would say to her. "Let's just say my family wasn't the most fond of me having freedom. They always wanted me to be all classy, my friendship with you lets me finally have the freedom I want." She'd reply.
"Hey so I heard about this treasure in the forest" Jace would say to Akari. "Hmm, and you wanna get it, why?" She'd ask. "Uhh to be the richest people in the village duh" He'd reply. "This could help me support my sister from a distance too" he'd add. "Your sister Chloe right?" Akari would ask. He'd nod. "Maybe just let her be Jace. I mean she's clearly mad at you for being overprotective and you might just make it worse." She'd add. Jace would agree as they set off into the forest. As they journeyed into the forest, Jace and Akari would hear the sounds of the trees rustling and the birds singing. They soon came across a hooded figure walking in the opposite direction. The figure stopped abruptly and turned to face them with a deep, raspy voice "I remember you two from the path to the village of zadia. You should turn back now. Nightmare, a powerful demon, awaits those who enter these woods."
Jace and Akari looked at each other in fear and confusion. "What do you mean?" Akari asked. "Nightmare is a demon that many have tried to defeat, but few have succeeded. If you proceed, you will encounter it, and it will not be pretty," the hooded figure warned.
Jace and Akari thanked the hooded figure for the warning and continued on their journey, but their fear lingered. Suddenly, they heard a loud, bone-chilling roar. They looked around and saw the red eyes of Nightmare staring back at them.
Jace and Akari fought valiantly but they were no match for Nightmare's immense power. Suddenly, the hooded figure appeared again, revealing himself to be Nightmare. Jace and Akari were shocked, but before they could react, Nightmare attacked them with full force. Jace and Akari fought for their lives, but Nightmare nearly killed them. In their last moments, the two of them knew they were about to die, and a sense of despair washed over them. But then, something strange happened. The world around them started to twist and distort, and everything faded to black.
When they woke up, Jace and Akari found themselves lying in their village again. "What just happened?" Akari asked, confused. "I don't know," Jace replied, equally bewildered. "But it felt like a dream."
Just as they were discussing what had happened, a familiar voice interrupted them. "You two should be more careful," Nightmare said as he appeared in their room. "You never know when I might decide to finish what I started."
Jace and Akari prepared to fight again, but Nightmare merely chuckled. "Don't worry, I'm not here to fight. I just wanted to see the look on your faces."
With that, the demon vanished, leaving Jace and Akari alone once again. As they breathed a sigh of relief, Jace realized something. "Wait, if that was a dream, how did Nightmare show up in our room?"
