Brendon's Point of View ;
Ryan and I spent three hours helping his mom put up Christmas decorations. Three hours. But it was fun. Then we made cookies and helped with dinner.
We went back to the bedroom to continue what we started earlier.
Ryan had his fingers back inside of me and his tongue was rubbing against mine.
And then my phone started ringing.
I groaned and Ryan slid his fingers out, lying next to me. I got up and grabbed my phone from my jeans.
"Sarah." I said to Ryan. He rolled his eyes and looked out the window.
"Of course." He said quietly.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Brendon, I'm on my way to the hospital." Sarah said.
"What? Why?"
"I think something is wrong with the baby. Could you meet me there please?" I started looking for my clothes.
"Yeah, I'm on my way." I hung up and quickly got dressed.
"What's going on?" Ryan asked.
"She's going to the hospital," I pulled my jeans on and slipped on a shirt. "I guess something is wrong with the baby."
Ryan got up and got dressed.
"I'm going with you." He said. I nodded and we left for the hospital.
When we got there, we went to the emergency department and I asked for Sarah's room. A nurse took us there and Sarah was lying in the hospital bed.
"Why is he here?" She asked, frowning at Ryan.
"Is the baby okay?" I ignored her question.
"They're doing tests," she looked down and put a hand on her belly. "and they're going to do an ultrasound to make sure it's in the right spot and not in a tube or something." I nodded and Ryan and I sat down in the chairs by her bed.
"Sarah?" I turned my head to the door to see a girl in blue scrubs.
"Yeah?" Sarah said.
"I'm here to take you back for an ultrasound." She smiled. "Are one of you the father?"
"Um, me. I am." I raised my hand and the girl nodded.
"You can come with, if you'd like." I looked at Ryan and he nodded, leaning back in the chair. The girl wheeled Sarah's bed out of the room and I gave Ryan a quick kiss.
"I love you." I said before leaving. I heard him mutter an I love you back. He sounded annoyed.
We went to the radiology part of the hospital and had to wait in the hallway for someone to come get her.
"Why is he here?" Sarah asked. I looked at her.
"Because he's my boyfriend," I simply stated. "and he's worried about the baby."
"Well he shouldn't be. It's my baby and he doesn't need to be here." I rolled my eyes.
"And it could be mine too. So it's not just yours." I leaned against the wall.
"It is yours," she said quietly. "I haven't been with anyone else in months, other than you that one time. There's really no need for a DNA test."
"Yeah, well. Just making sure. I have that right, don't I?" Sarah shrugged and finally someone came to take us back.
"I need you to get as close to the edge of the bed as you can," the woman said. "and lift your gown." Sarah did as she was told and the woman was getting the ultrasound machine ready. She grabbed a bottle of blue stuff and poured some on Sarah's belly. I never realized that she had a tiny little bump already.
