-
It's been just over a week.
Sendo has to be one of the sweetest guys you've ever dated, if not the sweetest yet.
In the span of the last seven days, the two of you have already been on another date- thankfully without Aiku this time.
It had been pleasant, and you'd enjoyed it a lot; and yet, you still can't feel as if something is off. It almost feels like the two of you are just pretending to date, like this isn't real and you're both engaging in an extended game of make-believe. It feels artificial, even.
Why does it feel like that?
Well, the answer is simple.
Aiku is a dick.
He makes over-the-top, vomit-inducing kissy faces whenever you and Sendo are in the same room as him (which, unfortunately, is often, because he's Sendo's best friend and you're his), he's constantly making immature sex jokes, he really just never shuts up.
He's bitter, you think, about the fact that you're giving Sendo another chance. He's bitter that you've moved on from whatever small weird spark had happened between you and him and he's upset that he isn't the centre of attention.
He's just a dick, that's all.
You've known that for ages, and yet it's never seemed to bother you as much as it does now. Why does he have to be so goddamn difficult?
Your phone suddenly rings, startling you out of your thoughts.
It's a Sunday night, and all your friends are busy. Sendo's out visiting family, so there isn't really anybody you'd expect to be phoning you right now.
You can't help but roll your eyes when you see that it's Aiku. Because of course it is.
"What?" You grunt, pausing the show you'd been watching on the TV (mainly for background noise, because you'd been stuck in your own head anyway.)
"Well, aren't you as pleasant and charitable as ever?" You can hear the smirk in his voice, the way he's probably got an eyebrow raised, and it irritates you a little.
"Can I help you?" You sigh, already anticipating his inevitable invitation to hang out, most likely because a date's bailed on him. It's a bad habit of his, really.
To be fair, you hadn't minded it at all back when you were single. It is slight nuisance now, however, because unlike a certain somebody, you have morals. And a conscience. And most importantly - a boyfriend.
"Yes, sweetheart, you can," He chuckles, and judging from the noises in the background, you guess he's at a bar of some sort - which is bad, because he's still got a year left before he's legally allowed to drink. "Wanna hang out?"
"Aiku," You tut, rolling your eyes even though he can't see you. "You better not be drinking. You're nineteen."
"Course not!" His response is a little too hasty and a little too slurred for your liking. "I'm a good boy!"
You sigh again for what feels like the fiftieth time, already accepting your fate. "Text me the address, and I'll be there."
"I knew you weren't gonna let me down."
