Chapter 2

Maisie's Pov-
"Do you have to leave AGAIN?" groaned Cassidy.

Every summer my dad, my mom, Matt (my brother), and I head down to North Carolina. We spend the whole summer with the Grier fam because our parents were best friends in high school.

And to be totally honest with you, I'm pretty stoked to go. Don't get me wrong, I'll miss my friends, but I'm really excited to see Nash, Will, and Sky again. And surprisingly, Hayes. These past few summers, he hasn't talked to me as much as he used to when we were kids. He's usually with his girlfriend. And may I add, there's a new girlfriend every year. He'll dump one, and then move on. I'm just happy that I'm single as a pringle who doesn't have to deal with that mess.

"HEY GUYS WAIT UP!"

I turn around to see my brother, Matthew Lee Espinosa.

"Walk faster" I whisper to Cassidy while practically running.
She just giggled and stoped to wait for him to catch up. Or mustard. OH MY GOSH THAT JOKE WAS SO BAD. But you gotta admit. It was a little punny;) MAISIE STOP YOURSELF.

"What are you doing?" I ask as I run back to her.
Cassidy is just standing there staring.
"HELLOOOO? EARTH TO CASS?"

Nothing. She just keeps staring at, what looks like, my BROTHER?

"Whats cracka-lackin?" Said Matt as he put his arms around Cass and I.

Cassidy was giggling. GIGGLING!
Come on, it wasn't that funny Cass.
Ew wait. SHE HAS A CRUSH
ON MATTHEW!

"Can you guys believe that today's the last day of school?" asked Matt.

"HALLELUJAH PRASIE THE LORD!
I'm not going to miss the 9th grade at ALL. No sir." I say while pushing my hands together in a praying form.

"Alrighty well I'll see you kewl kats after school" waved Matt while chuckling about my remark.

"See ya later br-" I started to say but was cut off by the screeching noise of Matt as he approached his friends.

I look over to see that he had his arms in T-Rex form (or as I like to call it his Mattesaurus form) and was slapping his friends with his little arms.

I love my weird brother.

"So what was that all about?" I say smirking and wiggling my eyebrows.

"What?"

"Don't ask stupid Cass. I know you like Matt. And ya lyin if you say you don't."

She starting blushing. Hard. She looked like a freaking tomato.

"AWWW CASS YOU LIKE HIM! Even though I may feel a bit disgusted right now, I hope you two end up together."

"Thank you Maise" She said smiling.

"No problemo. Now lets go before Mr.Kipper gives us summer school."

We laughed and said our goodbyes.

One more day in the dungeon.

One more day.

*DING DING DING*

"I hope you all have a wonderful summer vacation!" said my homeroom teacher Mrs.Marten while waving goodbye. Mrs.Marten, you're not fooling anyone. We all know that you're really thinking "I hate you all, I never want to see your faces ever again."

Oh wait, I almost forgot!

1..2..3..4..5

"FIVE SECONDS OF SUMMER!" I yelled while pulling out my phone and blasting Don't Stop by 5sos.

I held my phone out up over my head and was awkwardly dancing down the hall and found Cassidy and Laura.

"COME ON GUYS YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO JOIN ME"

Cassidy and Laura just kinda shrugged at each other and started dancing behind me as we go through the halls.

People were giving us weird looks, but I didn't care because its SUMMER!

It wasn't exactly High School Musical, but it was the best that Virginia High could offer.
